The original "Assault Rifle"
« on: July 24, 2005, 07:13:27 PM »
Does anyone know of a German MP 44 machine gun AEG made or in existance???  This was the macine gun that coined the term Assault Rifle by no other than Adolph "PLACE PROPPER WORD HERE" Hitler.   :?

But anyways, I haven't come up with any info on a search and thought to ask you, (my brethren) for assistance.

It was once believed that Chuck Norris actually lost a fight to a
pirate, but that is a lie, created by Chuck Norris himself to lure more pirates to him. Pirates never were very smart.

I thought it was called the MP-43 and later changed to the StG-44.  The MP prefix was to trick Hitler into thinking they were developing a "Machine Pistol" (Maschinenpistole) since Adolf said "No more rifles".  Once they finally showed him what they built it was renamed StG-44 (stg = Sturmgewehr = Assault Rifle).

I might be wrong, but thats how it was explained to me.

Sounds about right Andy.  But I hardly ever hear it being called the StG44..so I asked about it as the Mp-44, as it is easier known.(to make it easier to find the airsoft version)

It would be a cool (and original looking) rifle, Surplus Man or M-79 might know of an airsoft version.  If not M-79 could probably make you one!

Shoei made one some time ago. REALLY rare, and expensive if you happen to find one. Its an external gas version, that used the BV system.

If you want an easier obtainable version, than your only real option would to be to mod it from another
gun. The G3 is the most likely candidate. Its actually bade really closely off the real one in real life, and the whole body and barrel are pretty much identical. Take a picture of a g3 and compare it to an mp44, and youll; see what im talking about.
I was actually thinking of doing this a while ago, but I just didnt have the money, and it would take alot of sheet metal working to make the grooves and magazine and barrel shroud and such.

Im more concetrated on fininshing my .30 browning right now.

I know of a place. I can't give you the proper url because it won't let me. Anyways, go to www.wgcshop.com , then go to aegs, then go to jet custom, and then click on the Shoei MP44 aeg custom. What it is is a Shoei MP44 modded into an AEG. At the moment it is sold out, but they might come back in to stock soon. It has a big price tag on it, but there it is.

It's only the conversion kit. You have to provide the internals yourself.

if i wanted an mp 44 id put my trust in m79's know how and skill of machinery. id purchase the ca G3 and an mp44 parts kit and pay m79 to do it. i know hed go that extra mile just so it worked properly and looked sharp as hell. plus that would probably be a little cheaper than a shoi.
