Title: Operation Iraqi Freedom Continues at SWPB June 18
Post by: AAMike on June 06, 2006, 02:03:58 PM
Operation Iraqi Freedom June 18 (9 am– 2 pm)

Southwest Paintball has become the stage for Operation Iraqi Freedom. Join us all summer long as Marauders Airsoft hosts games based on battles taking place in Ramadi Iraq. Join the US and Iraqi forces (desert camouflage) in combat against Insurgents (woodland and civilian clothing) in a game that spans all of the combat fields.

Remember to bring any old gear or guns you may want to sell. We will be setting up a mini Airsoft SWAP meet. The Marauders will sell your gear for you while you play.

About Southwest Paintball
This is a great location for airsoft as it has seven fields featuring an old town, a castle, ship, and a giant field with towers and trenches. Minors are welcome to play at Southwest with a waiver signed by a parent or guardian. Take the opportunity to visit SoftAir Depot and get more information about the game. There is a field fee of only $20 per player.  Players must have sealed eye wear to play on the field.  Shooting glasses will no longer be authorized.  A full face mask is available with admission.

Visit www.southwestpaintball.com (http://www.southwestpaintball.com) for directions and pictures of the field

There will not be a carpool to the game on Sunday. Please coordinate your travel appropriately.

Please send me a pm with your choice of uniform and type of AEG if you are planning to attend.  This allows me to write a story liine for the missions without giving too much away.

Currently we have about 20 players that are planning to attend the missions on the 18th and 15 participants at the Marauders Airsoft Boot Camp.

If you go to the Marauders Airsoft Boot Camp do you still have to pay to go to the game on the 18th?
Title:
Post by: AAMike on June 07, 2006, 09:09:21 PM
Admission into the missions on Sunday, June 18 is included with the Boot Camp admission.

This is my last off topic post. No offense Fish but your not a marine, Marines go through years of training and their full grown men that have to wear that gear.

Ahem. He likes to do MIL SIM airsoft. Apparently you don't. And Marines only HAVE to wear the gear because they joined the service at their own free will. Please stay in your lane thanks.

I really admire people who make it accurate and real even at their own personel expense/discomfort. Probably cause I do it myself... and I will be doing it for a living after I graduate.

Fish. Good on ya for putting up the effort. But I would suggest getting in shape before you kill youself on the field. Especially in this heat.

Yay! thanks. I accually am in decent shape I just haven't been in that kind of heat for awhile... I did get dizzy for a second out there though, but once I saw the enemy aproach I was back on track :).

I like MilSim as well, but sometimes i just get way too hot, and don't wear my jacket.  I hope that i don't take too much from your guys's MilSim experience.

Back on topic...
I'm planning on buying a new car this Friday.  However, due to a new apartment and car payments... i will be in a financial downfall and struggle for a while.  I WILL make it to every Official game i can... and that's hopefully all of them.  I should have no problem with this game, though... i'll keep you guys posted.

O.K. I was wearing a normal jacket with stripes on the sleeves(not camo). I don't think it's MIL SIM when your wearing civilian clothes, clothes that you could wear in public and you wouldn't look any different from anyone else. Thats why I took my jacket off, it wasn't adding to the MIL SIM feel it was just heating me up and slowing me down.

I like MIL SIM thats why I'm buying BDUs and tactical gear on Saturday so I don't have to be the "jeans and a sweat shirt" type.

Post by: Comrade Commissar on June 08, 2006, 01:20:35 AM
Remember, mil sim can also be bdu pants, a tshirt, tac gear, a shemag and a ball cap too ;) thats much better for the heat down here.... fore go what you can, and the full sleeve jacket is the one thing you can get around the most....

Title:
Post by: Hurts_so_good on June 11, 2006, 03:24:39 PM

Title:
Post by: Doc Hollywood on June 11, 2006, 10:13:15 PM
These events follow the same velocity limits as Lionclaws.  If your weapon was/is hot for LC V its hot for this field.  We do chrono.  400 FPS with .25 is over the limit.  400 FPS with .20 may or may not be depending on the laws of physics that day.

We currently have 17 players who have confirmed attendance at Operation Iraqi Freedom on Sunday.  Additionally, we have about 5 maybes for the event.  Please send me a PM to confirm what force you would like to fight for.

Desert/ACU = US and Iraqi Forces
Woodland/Civilian = Anti Iraqi Forces
Title:
Post by: AAMike on June 15, 2006, 11:27:41 AM
As of today, we have about 25 players reserved with about 7 maybes.

This weekend's missions will feature IED clearing through the town of Ramadi, mortar attacks on the Republican Guard Palace, and a hunt for Abu Ayyub al-Masri.

Don't miss the next missions in Operation: Iraqi Freedom

Title: Operation Iraqi Freedom: Ramadi Tales
Post by: Marauders Airsoft on June 19, 2006, 01:38:04 PM
June 18 1020 Hrs, Ramadi, Iraq
US and Iraqi Forces conduct SASO (Security and Stability Operations) in the town of Ramadi.  A small group of insurgents has over taken a neighborhood in the town and has fortified it with Improvised Explosive Devices.  Kilo Company deploys personnel from the government center to secure the town and capture or kill the insurgents present.  However, the Anti Iraqi Forces of the insurgency mount a well executed attack on the oil processing plant and are able to sabotage the facility as US and Iraqi forces are occupied in Ramadi

1050 Hrs Government Center
Two captured insurgents are strongly “questionedâ€￾ by Iraqi Security Forces and provide intelligence that the new leadership of Al Qaeda (possibly Abu Ayuub Al-Masri) is meeting with local leaders of the insurgency in an area north of the old Al Ramadi Mosque.  Kilo Company patrols encounter the suspected leader of the insurgency trying to move through the Ramadi Swamps via the Miller Bridge.  The small patrol from Kilo Company is unable to secure the swamps as local insurgent fighters regroup and wound the few soldiers trying to capture “Al-Masriâ€￾ near the Euphrates River.

Kilo regroups and sets up an ambush near the Mullen Bridge crossing the river.  Amazingly two insurgents get across the bridge and disrupt the ambush.  The insurgent leader is able to run across the bridge and escape to the safety of the outskirts of old Ramadi.  Special recognition is made to US Personnel Jeremiah Madrid, Douglas Thorpe and Chuck Smalley for their attempts to capture Al-Masri.  Sgt Madrid made a courageous dash after Al-Masri in over 110 degree weather over 300 feet in an attempt to kill/wound the fleeing terrorist leader while being chased and coming under fire by another local insurgent leader.  Unfortunately, Madrid was unable to secure the suspected leader.

1300 Hrs Government Center
With the arrival of the new insurgent leader, the Anti Iraq Forces launch an offensive against the Government Center.  A large group of insurgents moves across the Euphrates River via McKnight Bridge and begins harassing the security forces defensive fighting positions.  The Government Center security forces are initially able to repel the attackers.  Defenders from the south area of the security forces attempt to push past their lines of defense to kill a known leader of the insurgency.  However, these soldiers did not realize that there were half a dozen insurgents waiting for such a push to break through the depleted lines of defense.

With the elimination of the south defense, one of the local insurgent leaders is able to literally “walkâ€￾ into the Government Center and eliminate multiple defenders by shooting them in the back.  As this cowardly (yet efficient) attack occurred, a second force of insurgents arrived to over take the government center from the north.  The insurgents over take the government center damaging equipment and supplies.

The security forces regroup and assault the Government Center with success.  Fearing new reinforcements from the US/Iraqi forces, the insurgents are ordered to regroup at the Ramadi Swamps.  Kilo Company is ordered to assault into the Ramadi Swamps in an attempt to keep the insurgents from regrouping and staging another attack.  However, a number of insurgents establish an effective ambush at McKnight Bridge and prevent Kilo from advancing into the Ramadi Swamps. Both forces exhausted from the fierce fight retreat to their respective areas of operation.  The battle comes to a close at 1400 hrs.

I'm sure participants might appreciate seeing pictures of themselves at these events instead of a lengthy summary.  Marauders should spend some of that money on investing in a camera.
Title:

We have several cameras.  Sometimes people stop to take pictures, but mostly people just play.  We tried to get someone to take pics during the game but everyone was into the scenario instead.
