Title: SWAT Training Feb 11 or Feb 18
Post by: AAMike on January 31, 2006, 11:00:32 AM
To help out the DeVry SIFE Team, Phoenix International Security Group will sponsor two different 4 hour airsoft SWAT clinics for adults and minors at our company office. The program will cover:

Airsoft weapon safety
Marksmanship (pistols & AEG's)
Individual movement tactics
Team formation and movement

All equipment is provided during the training program. Please note that this is not a game. This is a training event for those players interested in improving their game.

Training is limited to 16 students. Price is $20 per student prepaid at Jungle Toy (35th and Northern) or $30 Day of the class. All proceeds go to the DeVry SIFE (Students In Free Enterprise)

The first class will be on Feb. 11 (Adults 9:30 - 1:30 pm/Minors 2pm - 6 pm.) Second class is on Feb 18 same times. Crossroads of the location are I-17 and Northern. Location will be provided to students who register.

Please send me a pm if you would like more information or would like to register.

The Februaray 11 class is almost full.  We only have about three spaces left in the Adult class.  The February 18 SWAT Class is still completely open.

Training is coming up this Saturday! The Adult Class filled up nicely. The minors class only has a couple of people interested. There is still a class available on February 18.

*Note only 10 spots left for 2/18 class.  Minors class 2/18 has 8 spots open.

Minors, if you are interested in attending but can't afford the $20, here is an option for you. Get three friends to register and you receive a free pass to the training class. Invite your friends who don't know about airsoft yet. Let them know they get to try out different gear and not get shot!

PM me if you want more info.

Title: SPOTS STILL AVAILALBLE FOR 2/18 CLASS?
Post by: AZTAC on February 10, 2006, 07:17:39 PM
I am actually a paintball player, in the process of getting into airsoft. I also sponsor a paintball team comprised of the local DPS Explorer program teenagers. We are focusing on the milsim side of paintball, too much attitude and whiners in tournament paintball! I am very much interested in the airsoft, AEG aspect and definately in the individual and team formation aspect.
Is there still a spot available?

Just to let everyone know this training was a lot of fun and definatly worth the time and money. Mike covered basic safety and weapon handling then went to tactics and ended with a few cool scenarios. If you're new to airsoft this is a good place to get some basic training and if you've been around a bit longer than it's fun CQB practice.

Thanks to all of today's SWAT participants.  I appreciate all of the feedback and have already incorporated some of your suggestions into next week's training.  Next Saturday will be better than today!

After tallying up the scenario points, Blue Team slightly outscored the Black Team.  The difference in the outcome was based on Blue Team making decisions and following through quickly.  Both teams did well in weapon safety and the outcome of the scenario as the hostage was rescued.

Thanks again for your committment to safety and teamwork today.

I wouldn't have missed this Saturday's class for the world. I'd love to attend next Saturday's class, but alas I have the weekend shift. Keep up the good work Mike, my friends and I would be happy to attend any more classes you have in the near future.

Remember to stop by Jungle Toy (35th and Northern) to register for Saturday's class.  By registering at Jungle Toy, you only pay $20.  Payment at the class is $30.  All proceeds are going to help the DeVry Students in Free Enterprise  Team.

We will be filming some of the tactical training on Saturday.  Look sharp (recommend dark pants and shirt) and you will probably be featured in a video at the SIFE competition in Los Angeles and a website being created by a new airsoft team.

I will be at Jungle Toy (35th and Northern) tonight (6 - 7pm) picking up current registrations.  Feel free to stop by and talk about the class and other potential classes that you might be interested in.  Still have about 8 spaces open for Saturday's classes.

The SWAT Class on Feb 18 for minors has been changed to an Adult Class to accommodate additional participants.  If you were interested in attending the program but didn't want to get up early (I know 9:00 am isn't early) the afternoon program is now available.  The second class is from 2-6 pm.

For those that accomplish the SWAT 1, SWAT 2 (Low Light Operations) will be held in March (dates to be confirmed).  To attend SWAT 2 you must have attended the SWAT 1.  Additional SWAT 1 clasess will be offered throughout March and April.

Ideally, attend the class with three other friends or team members to train as a four man unit.

To help the SIFE Team fill up their fundraiser classes, anyone who attends tomorrows class will receive 25% off one future class.  This only applies to tomorrow's training class.  We have a great turnout for tomorrow (12 students) but I would love to fill a few more seats to help out the college students.

Thanks for your interest.

Excellent class...highly recommended for anyone just starting out (as I am).

Mike and his staff were very helpful and answered all my questions.  Took time after the class to show some personal weapons/upgrade path.

I'm signing up for the IED class...

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Students in Free Enterprise SWAT Training over the past two weeks.  Through your help, the DeVry SIFE Team was able to raise enough funds to send their team members to competition in Long Beach, CA this April.

All the participants in every class were very professional and truly motivated to learn.  For those who took the class, I will be sending out the requirements for the SWAT 1 Testing to qualify for the SWAT 2 class coming up in March.

Thanks again to all.
