I might be able to help with some CQB Locations
« on: June 16, 2005, 11:58:45 AM »
I am setting up some training classes for airsoft players who wish to improve their individual tactics.  The training will be offered at a private training center in Phoenix (near I-17 and Northern).  Some of the courses offered include:

Airsoft Weapon Safety, Operation and Maintenance (2 hours)

Tactical Shooting (four hours)

Individual Tactical Movement (four hours)

Team Tactical Movement (four hours)

Players that successfully complete all four basic programs (written and practical test) will be invited to participate in some advanced training programs at our location.  These will include:

Airsoft Close Quarter Battle Tactics

Airsoft Hostage Rescue Scenarios

Airsoft Executive Protection Scenarios

This invitation is to players 18 years and older with a clean record.  To receive an invitation please send an email to:

The best CQB places I've seen have areas on several levels, even as simple as cutting doors at waist height to make room entry exciting. Sensory deprivation.. -Motion activated lights in places, dark or shadowy locales, loud sound, flashing light..

I've seen simple L-shaped walls of plywood and stud, and elaborate "boulders" made of shotcrete.

Make a skirmish area somewhere with little cover. Slows the assualt some.

Co2 fog, other wierdness.. -All makes for an exciting game.

There is not a fee associated with the training programs...yet.  I am only inviting a few guests over the next month to test drive some of the programs before they are officially offered to the general airsoft public.

It means you can't have a bad record....I am imagining that he is ex mil or LEO, hence why he won't teach to people with a bad record. I think that is SOP for most if not all tactical training centers. Why, were you in prison?

Considering the fact that this is airsoft I find it rather hard to believe that it would be taken serious enough that people would start doing background checks. First of all since this is a hobby/game I personally don't see a real need for it.

Now if the training is offered at an academy trauining area then yes there would be a need, if it isn't then it seems quite discriminatory since it is airsoft.

I wouldn't be down for this, I don't need any instruction.  Especially when I don't know who the instructors are, and half the time people make up sh1t like their ex-SEAL's or something.

I'd rather play SWAT4, probably learn more about CQB.

Airsoft Weapon Safety, Operation and Maintenance (2 hours)
why 2-hours, I know how it operates and I know how to be safe (a little something called COMMON SENSE), I know how to maintain it, 2hour?

Tactical Shooting (four hours)
Shoot IPSC, IDPA, once again 4 hours?  It can be explained in 5min, here's how most airsofters tactically shoots.... select full auto, then keep shooting till you hit him

Individual Tactical Movement (four hours)
??

Team Tactical Movement (four hours)
Most people that play aren't on teams, so who gives a sh1t

As for the background check, I won't give anybody I don't know my personal info.

As for time to learn, I've been through shooting/personal self-defense classes that ran for days.

I'll take a stab here and guess Mike doesn't want to teach about police tactics to gangbanger retards. Some stuff, though benign for us who play a game/hobby, are useful to some Crip Dimwit wanting to get an edge on the cops.

Course, that's just my guess. Hey Mike, how about some background on yourself?
