So far we have four people registered for the program.

Please keep in mind that although this is a training class, we will run multiple scenarios to help airsoft players learn to respond to airsoft IED's appropriately.  Almost all of our training classes are about 25% lecture and 75% hands-on activities.  The class will feature about 25 different types of airsoft and scenario game IED's.

Much of the information provided in the program is the same type of information taught to our real world clients but modified for airsoft.  To attend a presentation like this, registration would normally be between $100-400.

Send me a pm for more information.

Just for informational purposes, we will have an x-ray machine at the training class and offer an opportunity for students to view some INERT IED's throught the x-ray system. Pretty interesting to see how easy/difficult in can be to figure out what things are through x-rays.

Training for the Airsoft IED class is still scheduled for Sunday, Feb 26, 10 am - 2pm. Feel free to post any questions, ideas or scenarios for the class. Based on your input this week, I may modify the class to your specific interests.

Looking forward to your input.

For those coming to the Airsoft IED Class, make sure to send me a pm listing any "training items" that you are planning to bring.  I still have about 6 spaces in the class.

Good work today for those that came to our first Airsoft IED Training Program.  I really appreciate all of the input and effort that the participants brought to the class.  Watching the class try to figure out the render safe procedure scenario was just too much fun!

You guys did a great job considering that you were faced with such a complicated IED.   Participants in the class were challenged with a Category A Device (Airsoft IED Device Among Hostages) that required a manual render safe procedure.  After x-ray analysis of the suspected device, each participant attempted to render the device inert.  Let's just say that a 60% survival rate was MUCH HIGHER than expected.  Most of our real world classes have about a 20% survival rate during the detection of this device.

I look forward to training with you guys again soon!  To receive an email newsletter of our upcoming classes, please send me a pm.

I was one of the participants of the IED class.  I must say that it really makes you think given all the potential booby-traps that can be contained in an IED: Mercury switches, motion detectors, redundant ignition systems, false leads, temperature sensors, etc..

Looking at the X-ray, trying to make a determination of the contents and working on a render safe procedure in real time is difficult to say the least.

I actually found myself sweating a little trying to render the device safe...

...Suffice it to say, I was one of the casualties of the operation, since I violated the first rule...don't move the device.

The only downside was that the class was only 4 hours (if that can be considered a downside) and there is so much information that Mike has (and his brother who is a Bomb Tech and helped design the class) that it really just scratches the surface of this topic/skill.

X-Rays?  In airsoft?  That sounds a little overdoing the game... at least to me it is.
