Cerberus also owns Chrysler, and owns part of GMC if im not mistaken, just a big investment firm
Not Bushmaster, but their parent company Cerberus. Cerberus also owns Remington, and have since placed the ACR under the Remington Military Division
So does this mean the ACR will not be on the civilian market anytime soon? I know theres been a bunch of talk about a civilian version for a while.
edit:
is that the Modular sniper rifle you were talking about?
That's it. I have not even handled one yet, but I'll be sure to check it out at SHOT.
I'm not sure what you mean by civilian version, as I'm unaware of any contracts or plans by a US gov't entity to purchase the ACR. The ACR is the ACR.
As for when it will hit the market? I'll believe it when I see it on the shelves. There are plans, and I believe it will happen, but it will likely end up like the Tan-framed HK45.
That said, all my info regarding the ACR was acquired as a consumer, so I'm no authority on the matter.
