Ya know, on 2nd thought, it'll never pass.  The requirements are WAY to broad.  That would include airsoft (GOD HELP US), squirt guns, wooden rubber-band guns, laser tag guns, dart guns, and all manner of COLORFUL, ODD SHAPED, and CLEARLY DISCERNIBLE recreational toys.  Thats a real load.  Toys and all kinds of crap like that? Its too much fun.  Kids eat that stuff up, I know I did.  I was a Desperado.  Don't take that away.

It says handguns.

But, that's OK, because that will never pass. If it does, that will just make our like, underground hobby more underground.

This law will never pass; No findings, no co-sponsors, and no K-street lobbyists to pressure other legislators.  Also, its like a paragraph long.  My average forum post is longer than the act text.  I kept thinking Adobe Reader was broken.

And for that statement it just hands guns, That will be the beginning of the end of Airsoft cause next they will include all real looking gun,

So you guys better start buying up Alien pulse rifles

Indeed, it might be a good idea to at least write a few letters, just to let 'em know they have a "bloc" to yell at them if they think of voting "Aye."  You can find out who your congressional rep is with this site:

http://www.house.gov/writerep/

Just pick Arizona from the list and enter your zip code.

This is a concise, but thorough guide on writting letters to congress:

It doesn't surprise me that these toy gun ban laws keep rising up, but there's got to be a better solution than banning them.  The stuff that gives airsoft a bad rap is the random kid brandishing the airsoft gun in some public place.  If it comes to increased regulations there has got to be some sort of compromise to avoid a total ban.  To my knowledge, the majority of airsofters don't do stupid crap with their airsoft guns and it's a very small percentage of airsofters that cause all the trouble.  If a politician is going to treat them as if it's a real gun (which is my best guess as to one of his reasons for this bill, posing an airsoft gun as a real gun) then airsoft guns should have the same priviledges as real firearms.  There are shootings all over the country where people are severely injured and killed, yet civilians can purchase firearms, hell, im still in high school and i can purchase a long gun.  It just doesn't make sense that in the future it is possible for me to buy a lethal weapon, but an airgun that shoots plastic bbs, is too dangerous of an item.  If there's something I'm not seeing in this issues, just speak up and let me know.

Well once again we can thank the democrats.  Instead of focusing on real problems they have to tackle their old standby, gun control.  Personally I don't think this one will pass, but never say never.  Just because the majority of airsofters don't abuse the privilege doesn't mean they won't ban or regulate it heavily.  Just look a how few legally owned guns are use in crime, but they want to ban, and regulate that as well.  Perhaps airsoft needs some sort of national organization to defend it against this kind of crap legislation.

I see this as another case of attempted "social engineering".

I don't know about you older guys, but my generation has had it constantly drummed into our heads by public schools that "violence never solves anything".  In reality, violence, or the threat of violence, has probably solved more problems than anything else in history.

By banning things that look like guns, they're trying to instill an unwarranted fear of them, thus making them easier to ban in the future when one of those "we're doing it for the children" groups gets loud enough.

It's all a ploy to get us to rely more on the state than our own self initiative, because by God, those guys in Washington are inherently smarter and better than the rest of us and we should have them protect us.
