I used to watch this all the time as a kid.

He piloted a B-24 in Italy during World War II, eventually retiring as a Captain with a Distinguished Flying Cross and an Air Medal with three oak leaf clusters.

A true member of the Greatest Generation.

I remember seeing the original "Watch Mr. Wizard!" show in the 60's.

The 80's revival was pretty good, but I think the best tribute was the "Mr. Lizard" character in Dinosaurs!

"Timmy, hold these conductors while I throw the switch..." ZAP!

"oops - We need another Timmy!"
