KWA KM4 RIS
« on: December 23, 2009, 05:13:16 PM »
So I played with Rebel Union at their free field over the weekend - and used my KWA KM4 RIS.  9.6V 1600Mah battery. Otherwise stock gun.

Very, very pleased with the performance, and I really like the fact that unlike paintball - there is no oily residue.  And the ammunition is so much more compact to carry around.
The game, strategically is much more interesting.  At least for now.  Forcing converstaions.

Much like Arena or speed ball - calling out plays and positions.  Success in Airsoft requires communication. Suppression fire. Flanking. and working together.  Good stuff.

And fortunately, with my brief exposure with Rebel Union and Steelworks- some really nice people.

Good stuff.

The KWA RIS KM4 - worked flawlessly.  No problems.  No jams.  I went through 4 games.  2 FULL High Cap mags each game.  So I am estimating about 1600 rounds total.  Batteries were fine - and did not show any sign of flagging.   I am VERY curious as to how much time/shots I'll get out my 9.6 1600Mah batteries.

Speed is quiet good.

Accuracy - I just don't know what to compare it to.  So I cannot offer a valid comparison.  Of course, I would like more accuracy.  I don't know if what I was getting was "good" or "bad".  I'll post more as I get it.

I can't tell you how cool it is to hold a gun that seems to match a real world counterpart.  At least for me, and call me weird, It's just cool holding and working guns. sweet.

Now for my impressions of the gun.

It appears solid, and feeds solid.  The two High Cap magazines that I have - fit well and worked well.
The buck up works- and definately makes a difference.  During one game I was able to shoot at a longer distance, and noticed that the BB was curving UP at the end of the trajectory.  I then adjusted the buck up (not sure which way is up or down) but seems to be able to settle it down quite nicely.
While wearing a full paintball mask it's impossible to sight down the sites.  Frustrating.

Moving of the stock adjustment from 0 to 5 - was flawless and easy.  A move which I made several times during the game depending on situations.

I did not chrono the gun.  So I don't know what speed I was firing at during the engagements.  However, I did tag someone in the face, and while leaving a bump, and bruise - I didn't break any teeth.  (the shot caught the unfortunate guy in the upper left lip)

I purchased 5 more Mid Cap mags (CA 120's I belieive) and all of these magazines appears to be a VERY tight fit.  I have had to work them in and out a bit to get them to relax.  Not sure if this is "normal" for airsoft or not.

The BB's I purchased from APD - worked great. .25's.

I can't tell, is there a question in here?  Or was this supposed to be a review of the gun?  Or was this just a general pointless rambling?

No - why would the front end of a gun fall off?
