So i went to vanguard today, so ill share info.
The place looks fantastic, almost ALL the walls are up.
The fps system will work like this:
green izp tie- under 320fps ish
yellow- inder 350
red- over 350

"green" game will have only guns fitting green zips, "yellow" game is yellow and green sips, etc.

No s***! Sounds like I might keep my 110 spring in my gun for here...

What??  So If I roll in with a hot gun shooting 450fps and get a red zip tie I can play in only Red games or I'm good to play against anybody with a green or yellow zip tie?

I don't see why they don't just set a limit and make sure people chrono under the limit like any other place? Changing a spring isn't that big of a deal.

well, it's going to work somewhat like this;

on a game by game basis, there will be a survey taken of who is using what velocity weapons, the game(s) following will be like this..

if there are a majority of players using green-tier weapons, only green will be allowed

if there are a majority of players using yellow-tier weapons, green AND yellow will be allowed

later in the night, more adults come out and there could possibly be a majority of red-tier weapons.. if so, red, green and yellow would be allowed on the field

that is what i gathered when we met with the staff..however the actual procedure might deviate from what i have written. i hope it answers your question! i personally wouldn't mind playing with all red-tier weapons

I definitely wouldn't mind playing with all red-tier weapons too. IMO as long as everybody playing is fine with getting shot by high power guns (within reason), then they should be allowed for use.

Heard about this place. Can't wait! Interesting color system...though I think anything over 350 fps from 2 feet away in a CQB evironment like that is a bit overkill....

It's super overkill..

I can't understand why there just isn't a single FPS limit like what is used at other CQB fields and outdoor games for that matter?

Last time I checked you could buy a velocity reducer for $20 which is around the same as a new spring.

I'm not sure I want to get shot in the neck from 3 feet away at a corner by a 400fps gun.  I've been shot at 320 in the neck from 10 feet away at CQBaz and let me tell you it sucks.

Oh well should be interesting...

if i remember correctly, the safety requirements are going to be very stringent.. and keep in mind guys - this a new venture of sorts for vanguard, so they are feeling everything out still

who knows, there is no guarantee that they aren't going to decide on a single velocity limit once the time comes.. most of this is speculation  :D

However much I agree with you, about it being there first venture, that is exactly why you need to have your s#it together and figure it out well in advance.
I would NEVER drop that kind of money on something without having it ALL planned out before I raised my first wall. To be quite honest if I wanted airsofters to come and play I would have said “ Hello air soft community we are _________ and we are opening a new facility. We are planning for it to be_______ and the rules are as follows_________.

Now how hard was that? All we have now is a LOT of hearsay and speculation. You already have people saying that they will NOT go because of _________. NO one knows and that is bad for business. Will you still get people yes. But will you still get the most people that you could have with just a bit of communication? NO.

We are already speculating (or have been for the last few months) on FPS. If it IS over 330 I won’t go. I got the bone in my knuckle BROKEN from 15 feet away from a guy shooting 330. Anything higher is just a law suit waiting to happen. Yes they will have you sign a waiver but they aren’t worth the paper they were written on. This just doesn’t sound like smart business to me.

I hope they open and it’s everything everyone wants and more. I hope they do a great business and make tons of money but with NO communication and everyone saying “ well I heard this and I heard that” all you are doing is hurting the business before they even open the doors. If you want to help them out you need to tell them to get on the forums and start talking to the people that are going to pay the bills and keep the lights on for them, the airsofting community.

Even CQBAZ had the word out BEFORE they opened the doors. They had the rules and prices posted before the BETA night. I’m not saying that they are them but since they aren’t around anymore they really need to see what they did right and what they did wrong. Or they could be gone in less than a year as well. Worse yet they will open it to paint ballers….
End of rant! (Gets off soap box)

@bigwavedave A velocity reducer?? Never seen/heard of such a thing O.o.... but yeah I think they should just make a flat limit of 330 or max 350. 400 fps in the neck from 3 feet away I would imagine to be QUITE painful, as well as rather bloody and possibly even hospitalizing? >< I suppose it's still all speculation for now, so we'll see how things turn out. If they're gonna allow guns that hot in there though, I might have to rethink going....
