Title: Fear Farm night games (maybe)
Post by: Fresnel on November 26, 2012, 03:02:59 PM
So at last weekend's game at Fear Farm, I heard some talk about how PSC should hold a night game there sometime soon. Now I'm not the head honcho in this outfit, so no promises, but I figure it can't hurt to ask: If PSC held a night game at some time in the future, who would be interested in coming, and what day of the week should it be?

I would attempt to make a trip down, and I like Friday nights, shooting people is always a good way to end the week...especially at night ;)

I would be down, if we could level out the corn stalks. its hard enough to run during the day

I think I should just pitch a tent out there since we're going to be out there so much.

Heck, I would make the drive out for a decently late starting game on a Friday or Saturday. I'm guessing there's still a lot of props and such left.

Yeah that field needs to be leveled out some. Are there field lights going to be placed for some ambient light? And one question,I know people drive right by that south gate for the christmas light tour. Just did it with my family last night.

Yeah night games would be awesome but they'd definitely have to wait until after the holiday season for safety reasons but once they stop doing the christmas light thing night games would be sweet. As for the un-level ground i can get past that.

On the subject of the un-leveled ground all I have to say is nut up or shut up.

Are you serious?

I think night games should be done in summer time. Cold air with heavy breathing= fogging to eye protection and might cause a safety issue.

You play at your own risk. We're running games from now until June or July (I got those mixed up) So I'd imagine we'll figure something out.

Well unleveled ground can cause injuries especially at night.

Chino let the child run his mouth. Because you know he is a camper. And how is birdman running games at fearfarm now? ( nut up or shut up) bet you wouldn't say that to peoples face!

Gents, if you think our field is unsafe, start your own thread about it. Stop posting shit about it on every single thread we start.

Also, nice shot across the bow there, Chris. Real mature. Birdman has been volunteering his time to help us, but even if he weren't, he's still fully entitled to an opinion. Funny that you accuse him of camping though. He's been volunteering as a referee.

Im not seeing anywhere else we mentioned about the ground but this thread. And we are just mentioning the only thing that might cause a problem. But its not a big deal. Are we not allowed to throw our thoughts your way.

Now you guys act tough online. Were you guys bullied in high school? I dont see why you have to act like that.

I got a splinter : ( It would be nice to have the ground leveled out, i think i may have messed my ankle up a bit. But keep in mind the guy that runs fear farm could probably care less. This is secondary income for him. in the meantime im gonna keep doing my high knees. if i get injured out there, that means i wont have to go to work. So feel free to make something collapse on me!

I would try to show. Any day of the week would work for me during my winter break.

Chinole/Red Devil, warning potential players about the risks is admirable, but what's with the personal attacks? Is there some sort of history between PSC and W1A? Because I'm surprised at the hostility and name calling....

That being said, you would probably attract more players if the ground had been leveled. Maybe get some dudes out there to help level the ground and give em discounted admission if they help all day?

I'll see for myself this weekend, but I would imagine the active farming area would be off-limits? At least during planting season.

Well whatever it is, it didn't crop up on the field. PSC as a whole largely stopped playing over the summer, and W1A (to my knowledge) was formed during the summer lull in games. They were at Fear Farm last weekend, but PSC was all doing admin shit, none of us really played.

How would you suggest we do that? I mean, it's large chunks of earth, and we can't exactly pilot a steamroller through the field... Best-case scenario we go from uneven ground to loose, sandy soil.

Planting season starts in June, that's when we lose access to the field.

Most of us have day jobs and have to get up early the next day including the psc staff.

Well that's the upside to winter night games: shorter days means longer nights. We could start night games at 6PM, have five hours of gameplay, and be home before midnight.

Though maybe an hour or so earlier would be ideal? Get some of that nasty sunset time that really messes with your ability to see.

Maybe adding a poll from the start would have been a good idea.  :-\

I live walking distance from Fear-Farm, so depending on the cost I would probably go almost every single day of the week after school lol. But I saw it was twenty bucks so probably just once a week.

Don't think you'll have a problem there. If we did host night games it'll probably only be once a week. We're thinking about Friday.

Final poll results:
9 for weekends
8 for any day
4 for none

So 17 yes against 4 no, looks like we'll be running one after the first of the year to test the water. And given the votes, it'll likely be a Friday or Saturday night.
