Er, ahem.. That sounded a little manic, sorry, too much caffiene.

Simple stats; I live about 120mi. E. of the Valley. I am semi-retired and have a wood and silversmithing shop. I used to be in Gila Co. SAR and was a EMT/FF with Central Heights FD in Claypool. I have time to get to just about any game anywhere in the Southwest.

I'll be ready to play in about 2 weeks from now. Just waiting on the new weapons...

I haven't been to Cowtown in awhile, but if you like night war INSIDE buildings, under bridges, walls, patches of light and then pitch dark, some desert between the "towns".. That place was (is still?) a lotta fun.

They oughta love airsoft, -no stains on the movie set.

Well, -if I can scoot & shoot, and CQB and stalk and ambush, ...it doesn't need paint, just a good game.

One more time, paintball was a vastly different thing than it is today.
Guns, targets, and a good field to get it on,
I'm your huckleberry.

This stuff is heavy and lasts for a long, long time. Combat Cloth BDUs from Brigade Quartermasters.

Probably not the cheapest place, but the stuff wears. I have a few sets that lasted over 5 years of outdoor abuse.

Another good source for cheap  name-brand gear is Campmor. Most is geared for colorful hiker folk, but good prices and killer deals on discontinued stuff

Howdy, My name's Chip. I am an old-school paintball player. Looking for a good, interesting game with no cheaters.

Got the time to play, anywhere anytime in AZ.  I'm somewhat crippled, but still can play hard. Let's rock!

Remember, I fart dust. -Back in the eightie's, paintball was a good game. No players under 18, The guns were similar, -none of that "Two cases of paint, machine gun and sit in one spot" malarkey. You had to MOVE and fire, and the average ammo expenditure in a 40 min. game was MAYBE 100 rounds.

It was good, fast, close-up fire and maneuver combat. Cheaters were kicked off the field, and nobody went out with a ton o' ammo and did the "Spray and Pray".

Paintball today is a mess. I miss the old game and hope this airsoft stuff get's me pumped like I was back then.

When I played paintball really hardcore back in the 80's, five man teams were common. I played with the Hosers, and we were disciplined to playing the game. Nobody cheated, ever. We were all friends and it was a matter of pride with us.

There were larger teams then, but they all more-or-less fell apart because too many people couldn't all schedule their time around everyday issues in life to practice or go to team meetings, or make all the games... Too many opinons on this n' that.. -Too many Chiefs and not enough Injun's.

In every paintball game I played with "locals", we could always work up an impromptu "team," and we knew each other's strengths well enough to fight together pretty good. The Hosers were formeed to play tournaments and just because we liked to hang out together, too.

Guess I should elaborate a little more.. The FAA regulates ultralights as well as all aircraft. Right now, I'm in the middle between operating my PPC as an ultralight, and in the next year or so, it will need to be registered as an N-numbered aircraft.

The FAR's are murky in some areas. I do know that shooting at folks is a no-no, but dropping a waterballoon from above..?

I do fly in a safe manner at all times. The PPC flies at 30mph, and from 1000'agl (above ground level) It makes a great recon vehicle. Unobstructed view, you can look straight down and the PPC is often used for SAR ops in the real world.

It can launch from a dirt road with about 300' takeoff and landing space, and is towed on a trailer behind my Toyota truck.

Just a thought. I have an eight-passenger 24' boat as well ,,,,,

It applies to all aircraft, I believe.

..That's why I didn't include "strafing runs."

The rules (FAR part 91, I believe) say that nothing can be dropped from an aircraft that would cause injury to those on the ground. -Loose interpetation.

During that paintball game, the legality of the helo was questionable, but nobody complained. It added a whole new aspect to the game.. You had to deal with the enemy on two axis, as the helo crew would shoot at anything they coud see. It made for a fun game.

Hi all,
Might not work in many scenarios (you can't shoot at it, FAA says!) .. But I have a PPC -Powered Parachute.

Once, we did a paintball game in Oregon which had two Hummers and a Bell Jet Ranger with gunners. Lotsa fun.

Air unit... -might be good for recon, or maybe a water balloon "napalm" strike...

See you soon.
