Actually, I sold it.  No more M14 battle rifle for me.  I'll probably pick up a new one after the ban expires.  [:)]

I think I'd fork over the $$ for a DPMS Panther 308 (http://www.dpmsinc.com/10browse.asp?Category=FireArms:308+Long+Range+Rifles) before I bought a Bushmaster AR10.  [:)]

The Bushmaster one is just too new, and I have yet to hear a negative opinion on the Panther 308's.

The mags will cost you more than the gun did in the end.  The Bushmaster uses inexpensive FAL mags at $5 to $10 each instead of converted M14 mags at $75 a pop.

The "Ban" refers to the 1994 Brady Bill which banned importation and further sales of certain style "Semi-auto assault weapons", plus the sale of high capacity magaines over 10 rounds with new guns.  Any guns or mags mfg prior to the Sept 1994 date are consider "pre-ban" and can have all the evil features that "post-ban guns" cannot, flash hiders, bayonet lugs, folding stocks, etc, etc.  The bill had a 10 year life span which sunsets this year.  I'm sure Paco will add to this.
