THIS EVENT IS STILL IN THE PRODUCTION PHASE
We all know the story of Black Hawk Down.
I am looking to host a match that follows that story.
Link to fields: http://fightertownpaintballpark.com/field4 (http://fightertownpaintballpark.com/field4)
I am hoping that I can convince the owner to let us use all the fields at one by lifting up the dividing nets. I imagine that this will not be a problem as we were his only business lest time we went.
If you would like to "play" a certain role, i will take requests in the form of PMs. Please provide why you should play this chracter. Keep in mind we will need regular soldiers. Rangers, Delta, and militia. NOT EVERYONE CAN BE DELTA.
US Uniform: Woodland, Desert, ACU, ABU, Multicam.
Somali Uniform: Civillian clothes, Black camo.
OBJECTIVES!
The US will be responsible for rescuing downed pilots, refueling hummers, and eliminating all enemies.
Somali Objectives will be to capture the downed pilots, secure the gas station, and eliminate all US personell.
I AM OPEN TO ALL SUGGESTIONS THAT ANYONE MAY HAVE.
Also, please correct me on ranks or names if they are wrong. 8)

A date would be nice. I could probably get four people.
-
i would be up for it for shure.
-
FYI Operation Gothic Serpent was the name of the operation that went wrong and created the story black hawk down for thoes who where wondering aout its name.
-
You would need a large area. A dummy for the downed pilot to rescue. A squad to run as delta. No names Just a CO for each team. Also missions to Complete durring the game. Or else it will just be a paintsoft match and not a MilSim.
-
Should i use dummy pilots or should i just have someone sit there and is "activated" into play if rescued?
And then if captured, points are noted, then he joins the US side as a regular ranger?
-
Go with the dummy
-
Roger.
Are you interested in participating?
-
It will be a Far shot from Irene but I'm interested. It will all depend on when. I work every other weekend
-
I know, im definatley not trying to top Operation Irene because I know that it cannot be done. But, its just a fun scenario to play. :)
-
Watch a few Irene DVD's and get Ideas
-
I'm very interested, I just need a date and location (i went to the site but it confused me0) but I have about 6 people I could probably get to go under various teams.
-
location is on the link. date to be determined
-
Looks like a sick place I'm down
-
Dude I'm down this look awesome!!! Just let me know the date ASAP and I'll tell me group!
-
I have me and three guys who are interested in playing in this game under the U.S. side Seal team if possible? And is there going to be a certain cost to play?
-
I have black gear (vest glasses mask etc) what team would i be on if i played
-
MTT is coordinating an event similar to what has been proposed in this thread at Fighter Town some time later this year or early next year.
Our staff and a number of role players will serve as the Somali militia. This will let most airsoft players serve as the various military units involved in the mission.
The cost of the MTT event will probably be about $15 for our members and $30 for the general public. More info will be released about the event after we finish Confrontation '09.
-
Ziolko sign me up for OP-FOR. Its way too hot to be breaking out the BDU. haha
-
Depending on the date I'd be down as a Somali. The AKM is a versatile weapon
-
I'm with the Brophy Group that goes to Fightertown. I'd so be down for this. I speak some Arabic so I'd go Somali.
-
I'm good for TFR or D-boys. Just need a Date.
-
Alright, ill let you guys know more details as soon as I have them, as I stated this is still in production. So, please be patient. :)
-
once a date is solid... at least 2 for zee terroristssss
possibly some others, spread amongst the teams. alot of the guys i play with are heavy on milsim so they would want to be on the delta/rangers

I know everyone will bitch about not being able to wear their l337 ACU/Marpat/Mulitcam/Desert Tiger loadout but I kind of think the uniform restrictions should be stricter. It just seems wrong to see someone in ACU doing a Battle of Mogadishu scenario. If everyone wears their Mulitcam/Marpat/Whatever it might as well be a 2009 generic downed helicopter scenario. If you made Delta & Rangers wear 6-Color or 3-Color desert, and the Seals and Pararescue guys wear Woodland it would at least be 1993 ish. I'm not going to be a super realism whore and say you have to do away with molle gear or RIS rails on guns but if it's going to be a BHD recreation then a little effort should be put into looking a little like it would have. Besides its about $20 for a set of used BDU's at a surplus store, nothing ridiculous. Hell, I'll loan someone a set of BDU's or DCU's if they can't afford $20.

I understand where your coming from, sure I wouldn't want to see a lot of ACU. Not every one can afford more gear or another uniform at the time. While you can loan out some that doesn't mean everyone will still have a 3-color desert. As for the RIS, they had guns with RIS in that "Era". Also I would Imagine that the SEALs and PJs would have worn the 3-color Desert. My personal opinion would be 3-color desert, ACU, choco-chip, and desert Marpat only for US forces. It makes it simple and keeps with the color scheme. Thats means NO ABU, Multicam, Woodland, Desert Tiger, or Other fancy-schmancy Uniform.
-
Actually the first M4's with M1913 rails came out in 1994 which missed Operation Gothic Serpent by almost exactly 12 months. Rial forends didn't come out until the SOPMOD program even later. I suggested woodland because it fits the time period and many people have it. There are no pictures of Special Tactics or SEAL Team operators during the Battle of Mogadishu so as far as I know they wore them. I know for sure they didn't wear ACU. Its a little difference that changes a "get the pilot" scenario to a BHD one.
-
I have forrest and so do a number of my pals, mine has a USMC imsignia on it [smilie=armata_pdt_01.gif]
-
I might be interested, and I could get a group of four guys, in matching uniform, for the SEAL team. Won't be able to if there are realistic uniform requirements, though.
-
gah....black gear is sold out but i got ACU is this thing still on *cough* 15 with dad watching mah back *cough* need a battle sniper?
-
I have ACU pants now, black vest as usual, but i have an M4 now.
-
Hey guys, this sounds like a great event. Just let me know as soon as you can on a date for this. We are getting more interest in our field and I would love to lock down a date for this event so it doesn't conflict with other events. It would be no problem at all to open the nets on all three fields, thats the way I designed it. Just let me know what you need from us and lets make it happen.
Thanks
Henry
