This is going to be a Combat Challenge event, so expect the same set of rules to be used, with some slight modifications taking in to account the close quarter action that is going to happen (semi-auto indoors only).

I did have someone ask me already what the age restriction is - 18 years +

If anyone has any other questions feel free to PM me.

still have the op cold burn patch on my gear. im in. ill have to put a cqb gun together, ive been wanting to build one for vangard anyways. are you guys going to be doing a raffle at this one to?
i won a gun at the last one. great event last time. is there gonna be another night, timed, room clearing target shoot? this course loks a lil bit more challenging then the tarp/fence post setup from the last one. you guys did a great job at the last one, so i dont expect any dissapointments at this one.

theres about 4-5 miles of playable area. Theres the main town as well as a smaller village were "Johnny Deep's hideout is" Not alot of hills so it makes for good use of the Tactical Vehicles we will have on-hand.

there is alot of jumping cactus's out there so be prepared for that.

Airsofter1 needs to post the other pics we took from Friday afternoon.

Quote from: Mikeyli
Q: Is the date set?
Answer: Yes. For those people who need to take time off or request vacation you can be guaranteed the date will not change. We have been told by the National Guard we have Nov 12th reserved for us for this event. The dreaded curse of the "Combat Challenge Date Change" will not be showing its ugly head this time!

Question about the AO, is there any green there at all? (trees, bushes, etc)If not I will probably just wear my GORKA jumpsuit, solid soviet mustard color (wore the jacket for it at RD2).

A note to anyone getting near the chollas out there.
Bring along a small pocket comb. If you get a cholla chunk on you, place the comb between the cactus and your clothing, and flick it away.
Likewise, watch where you step! Cholla is found with ten or more feet from the actual cactus plant. -get the spines in your shoes, and its a bastard to get out.

This ^^^ Damn good tip. Saved me on many a hike and backpack. Otherwise, a run in with cholla might ruin your whole day.

And don't think you can pick it off by grabbing one of the longer spikes. It's impossible to do by hand with out getting more in you. There are spikes that you can not see. (That's what gives them the white fluffy appearance)

There are some, but not many.   I would say the areas away from the buildings and town are predominately dull desert tones.

For those that didn't read the OPORD, here are the directions to the AO, again -
Quote
Field Location – The AO is at the National Guard facility in Florence, AZ.  The MOUT range is located at the intersection of Hwy 79 and Arizona Farms Rd.  The entrance to the AO is 450ft west of that intersection – it is labeled “Hiller Rd.” on Google Maps/Earth.  Turn south on to Hiller Rd. and proceed to the staging area for check-in.

Thanks all from 49thCom/34th Spets! We all had a great time, this one was my second combat challenge, and most of ours first, and we are all hooked! Expect to see more us in the future as we can't wait for the next one. This was my first experience with extensive vehicle use and serious MOUT, and I have to say this was the coolest thing I have ever done thus far. Thanks again to game staff and everyone who played, and a big huge thanks to the National Guard for letting us use their toys!

I didn't see role players all that much, I thought going in that we were going to see civilians milling about, getting in the way and such but they turned into PMCs pretty much.

Had a great time! Negotiating with the Police was hilarious and the marines ambush on the russians couldn't have worked better. Can't wait to attend another combat challange!

Good times yesterday!  Hope everybody had a great time!
Russians gave NATO forces one hell of a fight for the town, and NATO was able to keep the Ruskies from a couple of objectives.

Lost and Found:  I found a few extra items laying around my vehicle before I left.  If youre missing anything send me a PM.

Civilians tend to stop being friendly when big scary men with guns come into town and start shooting them on sight. The Special Policia can only maintain order for so long.

Almost forgot to post this one up!

Me: "Mikey, I've got good news and bad news. The good news is, I fixed your magazine!"
Mikey: "So... I take it the bad news is that it was broken?"
Me: "Well, the bad news is that it got run over by a humvee."
Mikey: "That's not bad news!!  That's AWESOME news!!"

Most of you guys have either picked up your patches at Gearbox, or I've handed them to you at a game, or I've mailed them out to you.  For those of you that attended and still have yet to receive one, you can either pick it up at Gearbox or I can mail one out to you if you prefer.  Ron has a list of who hasn't received a patch yet.
If you want me to mail one out, send me an email or PM...
