For some time now I have been trying to blend uniforms from what myself and other vets on my team wore in the real army and other services to what our team wears when we play airsoft. Maybe I was going about it the wrong way. When we started our team we had a talk about what we should wear and not. The first thing to go was the U.S. Army tap. We figured that since, by that time, we were all out of active duty that we didn’t want to bring any dishonor or anything negative to the guys that are still serving.  Next was our last unit patch. We switched that for our new team patch and that was it for awhile. We still wore our combat patches and combat awards. The last few games have opened my eyes a little more though. Because, at the last few games, I have seen both kids and adults wearing unit patches, rank, tabs, and combat awards. I don’t know any of the people, and I doubt they knew me. But, I know what my veteran team mates and I have earned and not earned and I could just tell it kind of bug some of my guys and myself a little. I went to Gearbox yesterday and talked with Ron and Matt for awhile and they both brought up some great points. If you go to a game wearing what you earned, there are always going to be people there that don’t know who you are and what you have earned, or even if you were in the service. It just seems that when you wear rank, unit patches and awards from the service it just invite conflict and judgment from others. I got together with my teammates and over some beers we discussed how to set up our teams uniform style that are both neutral and still respectful. We decided that we are not going to wear our real military unit patches, tabs, or awards to events anymore. There is really no need and they just invite judgment. We are going to set up our teams uniforms like we are use to from our time in the service, but in our own unique way. And here is what we came up with…


For those people that do wear unit patches, tab, rank or awards try and see why it bugs veterans and current service people when they see you wearing it. Rank - I only came out of the Army as a CPL while I was in, I got in trouble a few times, but I’m still very proud to have been in the NCO corps. And to go to a game and see a 14 year old or 24 year old wearing CSM, SSG, or any rank they didn’t put the time and effort in to getting bugs the people that have. Tabs – If you wear an Airborne, Air Assault, Ranger….or any other tab do you really understand what the people that earn them went through? If you truly do, you should understand why some of us get upset when we see it on some ones shoulder that didn’t earn it. Same goes for combat awards like CABs or CIBs. Try and view it threw our eyes and hopefully you’re mature enough to realize why it annoys veterans when we see you wearing stuff you haven’t earned and people might have died receiving it.

Sorry for asking the age old question, "which is better" but I’ve looked on the forum and on the web and find very different opinions on these brands, and my only real experience is with ICS. So I figured I try to get some input from people that have actually handled or owned one. My plan is to convert it into a DMR riffle with an extended barrel that shoots around 500fps after upgrading the spring. The four brands I am looking at are:
