Preliminary Op intel below:

*****

BASIC GAME DESCRIPTION:

The battle of 2007 resulted in many losses to both the Oppression Defense Department (O.D.D.) and the Earth Vanguard Enforcement Nation (E.V.E.N.) forces.  This resulted in the need for restructure of both parties.  Realizing that the battle between these two super powers was not as profitable as they projected, company commanders issued a cease fire and peace treaty.  When the media became involved, the war was described as "the ruin of civilization" and "a waste of the worlds resources".  Political Analyst John Scabbard, stated that if the O.D.D. and the E.V.E.N. were to "join" forces that much more 'good' would result and was preparing a report briefing to the world leaders about the need to either consolidate the two forces for the "good of the world" or to required their immediate liquidation and replace them with a single military force he named the "U.N.S.".

Strangely enough, John Scabbard, was found dead in a remote lake cabin from an apparent heart attack.  His family issued a statement that in the last contact he made with them, that he had told them that he was going to "spend sometime to collect and reflect on his life" and wanted to be "Disconnected" to the world.  The family found this to be an abnormal request because of the amount of 'public' appeal he had.  Nevertheless, Mr. Scabbards report never made it to the meeting.  Scott Rells, Mr. Scabbards assistant stated that all data had been placed in a secured location until further notice.

In a separate part of the world, in the country of "Depokistan" (dee-pock-i-stan) UN leaders had asked for help to alleviate world hunger and terrorist reign.  Shortly after, the UN peace keepers were instructed to leave Depokistan.  Over the next couple of months, the country had fallen into the hands of the 'in country' militia men, commonly referred to as 'insurgents'.  With the resulting increase in violence, all persons that lived within that country were given two choices.
  • Join the insurgency movement known as "Balhaven Krie" - Translated to mean "The overcoming of death". (ball-hay-vin-kree)
    -OR-
  • DEATH

Those who were lucky enough not have their homes raided by Balhaven Krie fighters, left the country, resulting in a completely 'hostile' country.  Only a few 'civilians' remain in country.  Those who have been 'allowed' to stay in country are either relatives or extremist supporters of the cause.  Or, they are lying and pretending so they are not killed.  Intel reports are unsure at this time, as media freedom is limited and all 'media' communication must be approved by the Balhaven Krie.

****

In late 2008, the private security group known as the "Dirty Water Contractors" entered the country of Depokistan to the worlds surprise.  The statement given by the DWC was:

"We've worked closely with many of the Depokistan wisemen.  Our mission is to bring back a level of responsibility and civilization to the country.  One where children can grow up and be educated.  One where terrorism should not be considered a viable solution to demand or reform.  Our sole purpose in our campaign is to allow the innocent men, woman and children to live in peace.  We will succeed at all costs."

UN officials are unsure of the exact motives of the DWC and question their presence in country.  On the other hand, world leaders have praised the DWC in their efforts towards peace.  Regardless, reports have shown that since the DWC arrived in country, terrorist attacks, murders and rapes have shown significant decline in the short time they have been there and analysts say that if the DWC can continue to "work their magic".. that terrorism in Depokistan will all but disappear.

******

Command leaders representing the O.D.D. and the E.V.E.N met recently to discuss the latest world events and to revisit their cease fire agreement.  Both commands have come to the conclusion that the importance of the cease fire is one that can not be breached, but also stated that the 'need' for a them is shirking due to that cease fire.  Combined with the 'phantom' report by analyst John Scabbard both commands feel that immediate 'PR' deployment is necessary.  Preparations are in order.

Reports show, that the O.D.D. and the E.V.E.N. plan to rally forces and enter Depokistan by November of 2009.

The media that remains in country have stated that the Balhaven Krie shows EXTREME opposition to the arrival of the O.D.D. and E.V.E.N forces.  They have vowed that they will not tolerate this type of disrespect and plan to fight to the last man.

A DWC representative issued the following statement:
"THAT'S JUST STUPID.. why would you do that?  It's just going to make all of our hard work here meaningless when a bunch of rookie soldiers come over here waving their d**ks around like they're somebody.  They should just stay at home.. playing soldier one weekend a month."

Here are some paraphrased words from Game Control:

The plan is to kick the game off at 10:00.. and ENDEX at 15:00.. that's 5 hrs of game play plus a big raffle and debrief at the end.

Civil War is the closest thing in the South West you'll get to Lion Claws without going to Lion Claws. In fact, the higher ups at 858airsoft.com were actually the chief of staff at LC6 & LC8.

In the past, we've had people come out from Arizona, Nevada, and Northern California for these games.

Also, because the teams start preparing so far in advance, there is a lot of pre-game strategic planning that goes on at the 858airsoft.com forums. For those that are local, there will be fun trainings, meeting, and hang out sessions. For those "out of town" players, you can still stay informed and up to date on the forum.

How's that sound?

I live in Northern California (San Francisco) and San Diego is still to far for me to go for a game. The farthest I gone to game down south is close to Fresno, CA at Chilkoot Lake playing against Task Force 20 in an airsoft game.

My very first major Op was Civil Warr 2007. There were well over 200 participants at that event. Attendance also gets you a ticket for the after game raffle, where lcoal airsoft shops like AEX routinely donate guns and gear to be raffled off.

The games are very well organized. This isn't a couple of kids throughing something together. This is a Game Control unit that puts on several Ops each year. Like I said before, they also ran Game Control for this years Lion Claws.

One of the unique things about this Op is the utilization of team forums to plan and strategize well in advance of game day.
Team secure forums are already up and running.

Those that have made the trek to a Civil War series in the past have never gone away dissapointed.

Oh and just a reminder that there are only 10 days left to get in on the reduced $40 price for this big Op.

Prices start to go up on August 29th!

Last day to sign up at the $50 level for San Diego County's largest Op series ever.  Tomorrow it goes to the final price of $60.

Op is a month and a half away but the organizers have private forums for the teams to get aquanted and plan strategies and hold training days.

You don't want to miss this one!
