Nice!

The Tears of the Sun screen in the backgrond add nice flair as well.

Azsarge, I am impressed you caught the menu screen for TotS in the background. Isn't it a *mandatory* movie for cleaning weapons after a range session? [;)]
Yep, Tasco Super Sniper 10x42 - good call, Pancho. Everyone seems to have mixed opinions on these scopes - love or hate I guess - but it works just fine for me. I put Leupold 30mm rings and bases on it. I also was VERY surprised that the rifle shot that well from a bipod, as I wasn't counting on myself to be able to hold it that steady. I thought I'd need to use my rifle rests to get that sort of grouping.

Shifty, you mean just looking down the barrel? I didn't see any sights on that rig (which is very nice, by the way Jason!). Using irons is quite the challenge. I'm trying it with mine whenever I can afford ammo!

That's a smokin' group as well. I'd hate myself if I ever sold something that shot that well. Save up and get the action trued and the lugs lapped, among other things, and she'll only get better. [:D]

Heh... ummm... it is a "sniper" rifle, thus it doesn't have any iron sights as Basher pointed out. Not sure how many people use such a rifle (bolt action no less) to shoot off-hand without any optics.

As it is, I don't think I need to make it any more accurate than it already is. It will definitely outshoot me.

Jason, I really like my Super Sniper.

I am happy to see you getting that kind of group also. Do you have a place where you can go for a 300 yd zero? That will be a good test for you! Is the barrel 24"? Or 26"?

One of these days we'll have to get together...you may recall my Ruger sniper rifle...[;)]

It's a Remington 700 PSS, made in November 1993 according to Remington. It's a 24" barrel. Ever since the mid-90's, they began making them in 26" only, which is a shame. I looked long and hard to find a good 24" one - I just think it looks best at that length.

I agree as to the look of the 24" barrel. But even the USMC is starting to phase in the 26" w/ the M40A3...apparently, they'd like a little more accuracy out of the good ol' M700!!

Offhand means shooting without a rest, not without sights. If you can hold steady from the standing position and using your scope of course, see if you can hit the target then. I prefer iron sights or a red dot for offhand shooting, and a scope for bench or bipod shooting.
