I think we can all agree that SRC is not on the top of most player's lists.  I did run with an M4 from SRC when I first started playin airsoft.  It was loaned to me by a good friend.  Little SOB was tough as nails!  Told me that he never had a problem with it. :?   Perhaps SRC has a issue with quaility control, or perhaps way too many "lemons" are popping up.  It's like some replicas are great!  And then one just sucks.  Hmmm.

As far as the RPK goes....I figure on upgrading/re-building the replica into a support weapon that can hold its own in the field.

Unless another company produces the RPK...I don't really have a choice other than SRC.

Unless there is a company out there that still produces a RPK conversion kit for a CA or TM Ak-47 :?:

I have owned two SRC's an Gen 2 M-16 and a Gen 3 M-4 and have found them to be quite reliable.  They are bone stock and like most AEG's will be alot more reliable if you leave them that way.  I would say you should at least consider SRC.

SRC can be broken down this way (IMO):

Generation 1: Do not touch these.  Period.  Ever.  Not even if you are paid to.
Generation 2: Hit and miss.  Some (such as myself) got VERY good, reliable guns.  Others did not.
Generation 3+: These are finally respectable products.  I was very happy with my Generation 3.  It shot quite nice, and the rate of fire was actually noticeably faster than some of my other stock guns.  I would definitely consider another Gen 3 SRC if I was in the market for a stock AEG.
