Used these rockets at Lion Claws, they work well.  Here are my observations.

  • Fly very straight and accurate, minimal wobble effect, very balanced flight arch. Repeatable placement shots are achievable.
  • Excellent seal face allows good compression during propulsion.
  • Rocket is very hardy, I never was worried it would become compromised. IE I didn't have to worry about damaging during front loading with a ram rod and the tail fins don't degrade with usage.
  • Orange color makes them easy to find after use.

If you are looking for a rocket with great performance and that will last over time, this is a good option for you.

For those of you without GPS the turn off on Hwy 89 is .9 miles past the gravel pit/hwy 260 interchange. Right before the hwy curves to the left you'll see the first exit which runs alongside the hwy for about 200ft and joins the main exit.

Can you show us on a map(screenshot/ pin point) where the AO is and the exact driving route after the turn off?

If you get to the dirt road denoted at the marker on the map posted on the main page, you will be good to go. http://goo.gl/maps/8HGhu
They've stated they will guide you in with signs and it's only 500 ft. off the highway to the parking area.

Up to six years ago they used to not require the FEL....over regulation results in stagnation.

General Airsoft Discussion / Re: Contour mounting options
« on: March 02, 2015, 09:09:40 PM »
If you can, the side rail mount is optimal. I have the gun rail mount attached to the left side rail mount of my helmet too, I just don't have a picture with that side showing.  You can also to mount it on top, using the velcro with a cord like Noble suggests just be prepared for it to be very awkward quickly accessing the on and off slide with anything that covers it.   Also if you get a contour mount be sure it is version 2 or higher, in the version 1 mount the camera does not fit snug and the camera rattles a bit and the sound is picked up by the mike.

That might get awkward after awhile being that your hat will be front heavy, not to mention how awkward it looks too.

I recommend getting a helmet of some kind with side rails, either a Mich 2000, 2002, Ops Core variant or Protec A-Bravo. You can then mount the camera on either side or the top.  There are plenty of other options out there along with knock off helmets so just find something that is in your price range, it fits well and performs to your expectations.

Here is my helmet for example.

Thanks Desert Hawks for putting on a great game for a great charity!  How did we do this year, how many shopping carts did we fill?   To me the best thing about today was spending the day with such awesome people, honor and respect was out in full force and it's what truely made the day enjoyable! Props to you men and women who came out to donate for Toys for Tots!

I too enjoyed those times!  Here's my Favorite video from Balkan Hammer in 2007!  The Pilot Extraction, just after the team spent a lot of time to stabilize the patient/pilot, footage taken by a member of Team Saguaro if memory serves and before video cameras were abundant and convenient.  Alex (the admin guy) really enjoyed sharing his ranger experience with you squad leaders!

This is a really fun traditional event the Desert Hawks put on every year and it's for a great cause!  I'll let you know what side to put me on later in the week.
