Site Suggestions / Posts required to sell...
« on: February 21, 2010, 12:00:13 AM »
Can we make this a little more like azshooting was? Where you either needed X amount of posts or just get approved by an admin in order to sell stuff. I am seeing that just about every other new topic is some one just logging on to sell something with a poorly written for sale ad, with no pictures and barely legible.

Troubleshooting / Re: bsa red dot sight issue

Most BSA stuff is pretty mediocre anyways..usually for the cheap wally world type hunter. That looks pretty beat up anyways. And Now that the inside is exposed..it will probably fog a lot if you do reseal it. Most scopes and red dots are sealed and filled with nitrogen. If its just for airsoft, head to gearbox and get a decent aimpoint replica.

I flag races and have seen a formula V car crash and a GoPro fly off and then get ran over and roll off to the side of the lane. After the race, I picked it up off the track and it was still recording! The case was cracked and needed to be replaced, but the cam was fine. As for the mounts, I like that there are so many types. The mounts are simple in design, so a custom setup shouldn't be too hard to fab up.
The problem with the mounts are typically not the suction cup or 3m mounts but the connecting arms that have the interlocking webs. These are made of brittle plastic and have broken on me several times, thus making me return several cameras. You should be fine for airsoft though..this was for bikes doing 100+ in twisties and cars drifting into corners at 100+mph.

I know what i paid for them...whether you wanna call me a liar is up to you, i have nothing to prove and i won't entertain your flame.
Look buddy, no one called you a liar.. But you stated some facts which were incorrect, and we corrected you. If you really paid that for those then that's great, good for you. This thread is now getting WAY off track. [-(

which freaking model of half jackets are you buying...the platinum ones?
The normal half jackets and XLJ's are priced the same through USS with grey lens'. The Polarized model is about $25.00 more.

What did the ESS goggles run you with the Rx inserts?

don't know bout ESS, but if you got to:

https://secure.usstandardissue.com/inde ... N=47678410

you can get 75% off retail for oakley products with prescriptions.  I've got 20/20 vision but i've bought thru them and got oakley A Frame Assaults for $28.00, which i wore in Iraq and Afghanistan and never had a fogging problem, even after sweating on long patrols, and the lenses held up pretty well to dust and blowing sand.  I also got half jackets from them for $32.00.  Can't say anything about shipping cuz they ship to APO's for free.

P.S. you only get the discount if you have a military ID you can fax them a copy of.

Perhaps you forgot, but when you signed up for US Standard Issue with Oakley you agreed to a non disclosure in which you would not discuss openly the discounts you got. So don't. [-X

And this discount is not just for military. Actually the Us Standard Issue program extends to Military(active, reserve, air corps etc), Law enforcement, government agencies, hell..even the US Postal Service gets the discount.

Oh, and...I don't think you got them for that cheap.. The prices are more like 50% off. The discount is standard throughout the program.

They will ship to any address, APO's are still free, otherwise shipping is FEDEX 2 DAY.

actually the agreement is not to purchase and resell at full price. as for the post office thing gotta call you on that.  only those with a DOD issued ID card. so unless their retiree's, reservists, guard members or VA members than no the post office does not get discounts.  And yes I did pay that much for them,  have you bought from them? or did you just get your information of their front page?

False.

I know to the penny what the USS pricing is for all products, as well as the pricing for small and large volume dealers. My information is correct. I do not believe at any time half jackets were being sold for $32.00. This might be from oakley vault or another type of deal but not directly from USS.  The current USS price for them is almost twice that.

Still in for answer about bi pod..looks pretty good though. Gonna be doing some experiments with duracoat soon..

A lot of people mount the bipods 'backwards' like that. It's easier to extend it for people with short arms from what I understand, and if you're using a cheapy harris clone, then it won't fold up when you lift your head up a bit (moves your shoulders ever so slightly back)

That being said... twist that thing around! it makes it so much easier to carry slung, and it looks better forward. ;)
Ah, well I don't have sausage links for arms so that isn't a problem. Just mount it how it was meant to be..

LOL..the bipod is like that because I'm a retard and not paying attention. It took me about 20 hours over 4 days to paint, tape, untape, dry etc...this thing and just wanted to get it back together.

to the "just mount it how it was meant to be" comment....we had lots of Officers telling us you can't wear this pouch here or attach this light there because its not CI, or CO SOP.  Even if he hadn't mounted it that way out of mistake, the way a person sets up their own gear is usually done because its more comfortable to them or functions better for them the way they have it.  Sorry to speak up but I found that comment kinda condescending.
It's a Harris style bipod.. It was designed specifically to be mounted in the forward way. Would you mount an EOTECH backwards?

This is like asking "what is teh best carZ?"

Well, you can buy a eight million dollar Formula 1 Ferrari, or a three million dollar Koennigsig(sp)...

Instead of asking a completely open ended question, why don't you ask something like... 'what is the best sniper rifle under $XXX that can Shoot at XXX range effectively?"

I am in the motor sports (spec miata in Az region SCCA, NASA, Cal Club, and others) field and both own and sell GOPro cameras. they are the most badass sports cameras and can be mounted anywhere. they are quite small, though i imagine you would want something a bit more low profile to mount to a rail. they go for about $200 with a mounting kit and a badass shatterproof/ waterproof case that lets you use it underwater. there are stick type cameras for mountain biking and whatnot, but the images they capture are not as nice and i wouldn't trust them to take a bb to the lens area and still function. I have entertained the idea of mounting my GoPro to the right shoulder of my plate carrier as is should hen look out over the gun like a left handed shooter would see with sights and all. if executed properly, the video would look like a first person shooter demo. sick huh? well hit me up if you want to buy one of those cams; we have plenty instock and even carry the more expensive HD variant.

This looks a lot like an advertisement.. However the HERO go PRO cameras are very good. The mounts are 'ok'.

does anyone know of a place thats not too far from the gilbert area or any place online (other than airsoftgi) that sells good gear for good prices? im wanting to get a drop pouch, shemagh, and hydration pack thing.

http://www.cheaperthandirt.com
http://www.rangerjoes.com

my 2 best friends for years...good prices quality gear and not look cheap look a likes.  you may pay a bit more than you would for the airsoft counterpart but at least you're gear will be durable, and real.  US cavalry and brigade quartermaster both have websites and decently priced gear as well.
Probably best to note..these places have very..low speed gear.. IE: LBV's and the like.
