The video is decent.

Their tactics are terrible.

Their tactics in the video weren't meant to be serious, 2 of there members are vets and one is an ex ranger.

I would at least expect someone who has had military training engrained in them (especially a Ranger) to remember than you never pass in front of your cover fire when moving.  Basic movement 101.

They have a bunch of tactic 101 videos to watch.

They need to watch their own training video then.  That's what I'm saying.  In the first couple scenes, they seemed to have forgotten how to stack up when moving in.  And that's just the beginning.

For ex-mil, those basic movements should be practically muscle memory.

From what I see in this video, serious or not, I cannot see anything that points to these guys being vets. Especially a Ranger.
But if they says so on the internet, guess it's the truth. No disrespect meant.

Hey guys!

Our team has 2 Iraq veterans. Todd (Ranger) and Chad (Gulk). They we're both in the United States army and served. Todd went on to ranger school and earned his tab. They're both great guys and really add to the team. I think it's a little crazy to accuse them of not being who they are from just watching an airsoft video we posted on youtube. Sure, you could ask them for proof or whatever but I think that's a little low.

The rest of the team isn't affiliated with any type of military. We're just a bunch of friends who like to shoot at each other with toy guns, lol.

The images that were posted are from a web series we started which is scripted and totally "hollywood-ized". Yes, the "tactics" used were all for show and looked good enough to us, lol. It was mainly for fun and to get people pumped to play airsoft! WOOO!

Our team isn't a "MilSim" team. We don't play dress up - we play airsoft. We understand that a lot of people play airsoft for the looks and feel of real military setting (which is totally cool and we have a bunch of MilSim teams out here who are great guys) it's just not our thing. We like the competition of the sport and the team vs. team atmosphere. We like utilizing certain tactics that will help us during games, but that's the extent of it.

You have to understand that our tactics videos are a little lax and modified strictly for airsoft play. Like I mentioned, we aren't MilSim so we don't care about "strict" military technique because we're not under real fire or in immediate danger, so we can be more ballsy and do things you would never do in a real steel fire fight (like jump through a MOUT house window with two pistols, hit 2 people in the room, feel like a complete bad ass and then realize your helmet camera was turned off... true story)

I hope that cleared things up a bit. If you have more direct questions, ask us on facebook or on our forums. Everyone's pretty cool and will have no problems answering your questions.

Thanks!
-squ1d

p.s. Pretty sweet forums you have here. I'll have to keep checking back!

You have completely misinterpreted my post, and have successfully claimed me as a troll.

Way to go.   =D>

My post was not to call in the question of whether or not Ranger or Gulk served in the military.  In fact, I didn't even mention Gulk's name in any of my posts (see above).  I don't even know who is on Rainbow anyway.  My post was meant to imply that according to some, the videos posted were of "realistic nature" and "ex-military proven", so to speak.  It's very Hollywood, with that we agree, and I was simply stating that if you call this realistic you are wrong.  You even confessed to that with your post.

But coming on here and calling me out for not "respecting" someone who served in the military and fought in the sandbox crosses the line for me.  You are attacking me with the very same tactic you are accusing me of doing.

While I myself have never served in any branch of the military (for reasons of my own that I don't need to prove nor defend to you or anyone else), I come from a very military family and have a very close group of friends who are vets.  Ever heard of the USAF 506th EOD?  Or maybe the USAFSS 6988th, Bat2MB?

You, my friend, registered on this forum today to simply talk me down.  I've been here a couple years.  Who's the troll?

Woah... haha.

I didn't mean to start all of this. I was just trying to explain the videos and answer some of the questions that people were asking.

Let's all just play some sweet, sweet airsoft.   [smilie=armata_pdt_34.gif]

RAINBOW's whole mindset is to grow the airsoft community and get people involved with it. We do this by posting some fun (and legit) videos on youtube to get people interested. We all need to stick together and start yelling at the paintballers instead,

@InfantryScout - Thanks for serving!

You didn't.  :)  You're a fellow airsofter, squid.  My intention was never to start a fight either.  Heck, anyone who knows me on this forum or on TPA knows that I'm the exact opposite.  I hate conflict.  And it's ironic that I play a hobby that is based on conflict.  Yes, I confuse myself.

But geez, just because someone hasn't served in the military doesn't mean they don't know what they are talking about.  And just because someone did serve doesn't mean they know everything.

Just sayin.
