Desert Hawks Airsoft is proud to present the 13th annual Operation Red Sleigh Down on Saturday, December 16th 2017.  Operation Red Sleigh Down is a benefit game that raises awareness about children in need this holiday season.  Near the holiday season each year, we gather to play an organized airsoft event and fill a car with new unwrapped toys and then donate those toys to the USMC Toys For Tots program.  Please consider coming out, helping those in need, and having a good time with us while you are at it.

Scenario:
Welcome to the 2017 annual Toys of Tots charity drive “Red Sleigh Down” this year is ‘THE GRINCHINATOR’.

In the year 2029, a computer called KrampusNet is fighting against a human resistance, after having nearly destroyed Christmas in 1997. KrampusNet has found a way to send some of its warriors, called Grinches, back in time. This is the story of the Grenchinator sent back through time to 1984 to steal Christmas… and kill the resistance leader's mother the seemingly innocent Sarah Nicholas-a woman whose unborn son will lead the human race to victory in a bitter future war with a race of machines. Sarah's only hope is a soldier sent by the resistance named Charlie Brown from that post-apocalyptic war, who has chased the Terminator back through time to 1984. The question is, can Sarah Nicholas survive long enough to have her child? If the The Grinchinator succeeds, mankind is doomed. The future of Christmas depends on which one finds her first... Or winning a battlefield style airsoft game at Sasco.

...yeah it doesn’t make sense to us either, just go with it because its going to be fun… and bring a toy.

This event is by admission only.  Your admission is unwrapped toys with an equal or greater value of $10.  Cash donations are discouraged, but if you forget your items a suggested cash donation of $15 will allow the staff to purchase items in your behalf when dropping the donations off.

Special Note
Radios are not required for this event, but are HIGHLY recommended due to how the objectives are spread out and the play is fluid.  Mid cap magazines are encouraged but high cap magazines are allowed to be as inclusive as possible to all level of players.  Please also note this event is being planned as a MILSIM Battlefield type event with a fun twist.  This means that we expect limited return trips to cars and staging areas.  There will not be long breaks at any time once we are underway, and we will not be breaking for a meal.  Please be prepared to carry everything on your person that you need to play and stay on your feet, including plenty of water, spare batteries, and extra ammunition.

As has been the case for a few years now this will be a classic Battlefield style capture the flag event held at Sasco. We are looking to add additional flags this year to mix it up as well.  Additionally, to get you all in the Christmas spirit at the start of the event admin will award a few bonus points for both sides for bringing and using a Red Santa hat as a death rag!

A millennia ago the forces of Old Saint Nick locked away the evil Krampus for what they thought would be the rest of eternity.  His prison was to be specially built in the southwest deserts on the continent of North America magically locked away far from the North Pole where his evil influence could never be felt. Ever since, Santa Clause has been happily spreading the joy of Christmas with his band of merry elves. However unannounced to Saint Nick, Krampus's devilish lieutenants were hard at work securing his release. Even now The Grinch, Frau Perchta, and the Yule Lads are capturing rotten children around the world for their nefarious plan. At this very moment they move on the five magical seals built to hold Krampus, littering the area with their captured children in cursed discarded Santa bags to weaken the seals. However fear not for the United States Marines are on guard to save Christmas!

Dboys AK74SU Asking $100
This is the model with the plastic krink style flash hider, which I have painted black.  I have used this a few times but its still in near mint condition.  There is nothing wrong with it, just prefer the full length AK74 and I now have 2 of those so its time to clear out some extras.  Includes a canvas sling and the brown AK74 hi cap magazine that came with it.

Multicam Battle Belt and H Harness Combo (Medium) Asking $50
Includes the medium battle belt (fits up to 40") and the h harness.  Used but in good condition.  You will need a riggers belt or pistol belt to wear inside the battle belt to complete the kit.  Similar to these:

CASV rail for M4, inner barrel and outer barrel combo Asking $80
Includes an ACM CASV rail in dark earth, a CQB length noveske outer barrel with machined grooves to increase battery space in the hand guard, and a 6.02 Tightbore CQB length Inner barrel (deep fire I think).  All items are used and in fair condition.  The outer barrel and CASV have scratching from regular use.  The CASV system is also missing a hex bolt for attaching the optional rail segments and will come with all the screws and rail segments that I have in case you want to mount some or all of them.  Similar to this item on evike but mine is modeled after the CASV-M and does not have the cut out for the front site post (see links from VLTOR).

Custom Magpul M4 (see description) Asking $300
This is a custom build M4 that includes Magpul MOE carbine length front handguard in DE, Magpul MIAD grip in DE (will include optional panels), Magpul MOE carbine stock in DE, and G&P Machine Magpul receiver in DE.  The internals are M4 length madpull python inner barrel, classic army hopup, G&G green bucking, and a Classic Army X Series M4 gearbox and motor.  The outter barrel and front sight are JG and the Flash Hider is a Noveske KX3 flaming pig in DE.  Wired to front in mini tamiya.  FPS is in the range of 350-365 with a .20.

Scenario:
Finally after years of hard work we have got our first real chance at bringing down the notorious Dickens crime family and putting a real dent in organized crime in the south west. Since the brutal murder six years ago of Jacob Marley the Dickens crime family has been under the iron fist of Ebenezer. Once a small time loan shark from out of the slums of London he quickly gained prominence in the U.S. organized crime scene through his infamous greed and utter lack of kindness, compassion, charity , and benevolence. Within ten years of his arrival in the 80’s he took control of 78% of all organized crime within Arizona, Utah, Southern California, New Mexico, Colorado, and much of western Texas.

Four years ago the F.B.I. put together a special task force to bring down the Dickens Crime family, this task force was called ‘The Three Ghosts’. Divided into three departments each section was tasked respectively with linking the Dickens crime family to their past offenses, current criminal endeavors, and possible future activities. A break in the case was finally established when Tim Cratchit the son of a bookie for the Dickens Crime family, better known as Tiny Tim, fell ill after years of inhalation of fumes from the drug processing lab his father Bob Cratchit worked out of. When paramedics and police arrived at the scene Bob Cratchit was arrested for possession of over 2 kilos of cocaine. Avoiding jail time Bob Cratchit has turned and given us the date and location of the next ‘Red Sleigh’ a massive drug processing and shipment event overseen by key players in the Dickens Crime family. This provides us the perfect opportunity to strike and finally bring down Ebenezer Scrooge.
