I had a P83 knockoff in DPM that was a complete piece of trash.  I sold it to HavHav.

Hellstorm aviator gloves pill and wear through very quickly.

Pretty much anything you buy from "Airsoft_Dragon" on ebay is going to be trash.

CAG D has some wiley-X glasses that gave him trouble, but I'll let him tell you about that.

1) Before you wear them, go over them with a lighter and get rid of the loose threads (aka Irish Pennants).  The thread is usually nylon-based, and burning off the excess will often create a small patch of melted goo that prevents the rest from unravelling.

2) You get what you pay for.  Learn how to sew, or smile sweetly at your friendly local seamstress and have her reinforce some of the seams while she's sewing on the velcro for your nametags and shoulder patches.

3)  If you don't like 3-Color Desert, don't buy it.  Don't blame the manufacturer for your bad choice in color :-)

I got issued a used Camelbak.  That sucks.

I was the only guy to NOT get a new one.  That makes it suck even more.  Not only do I have to suck on some other guys spit, but I have to find out a way to cross-out "Mitchell" without compromising the camo pattern.

My issued bayonet sucked, so I broke it.  They replaced it with another, equally sucky, old bayonet.  That was in BCT though, and I don't have to deal with old gear any longer!

I have some Hatch Centurion kneepads that suck.  The webbing is loose-woven, and is coming off the pad.  The velcro that attaches the straps is worn-out and sucks.  I also have some Hatch Operator Shorty gloves that are coming apart a bit.  I've had them for 3 years though, so I cannot complain.

I bought some PROPPER 100% cotton ripstop DCUs, and they get seriously f*cked-up every time I walk by a thornbush.  The abrasion resistance is nowhere near that of 50/50 NyCo ripstop.

I had a BLACKHAWK! Omega rifleman Tac vest, that was supposed to hold 8 mags (2 per pouch).  No matter how much I worked with the "Nytaneon" (Vietnamese for "SUPER-STIFF PSEUDO-CORDURA"), I couldn't get them to fit right.

Negative!  I have much better stuff than that, I was merely sharing a few past experiences with you all.

Other than the gacky C-bak, I'm fit as a fiddle in the gear dept.  Other than a few pilots, I have yet to see another dude in my unit with better gear than I!  MWA HA HA HA!

I echo the negative comments about Hellstorm Aviator gloves and Hatch kneepads.

It's not something I use for airsoft, but try to avoid Stinger rechargable flashlights.  They were once an issue item, but we've since run out of them.  The rechargable batteries on them don't even last as long as a pair of CR123s feeding a SureFire.  I've seen more Stingers flicker and die in the middle of something than I care to think about.
Ironically enough, I was never issued a Stinger.  I was on swings...far more important that the folks on days got 'em.

Well, I got some MC in, and some of the WRONG webbing.. but I slapped some together to make my first.. thing!

You can't see it, but I remembered to fold and sew the edges over, since I didn't have any binding tape.. and no webbing on the front, cause I was just.. lazy.

You made that pouch, Nate?

Sucky or not, it has 2 things going for it:
-you made it yourself
-it's MC

Nice job, bro!

Thanks.. I would have used any other material if I had other than Multicam. Heres a pouch I just made for my friend, and his G3.. I took Turds idea of using MC over the webbing, and it looks downright badass.

I sewed the webbing on the back WAY too close. I gotta fix it later, it's so friggin hard to put on the rig.

HARRRRDCORE! But, why didnt you just have every other webbed on the back? You need to get some "Snaps" and make some attachments like the BLCS/BHI.

Outstanding work!  Now get a better camera so we can see it.

With regards to snaps, son't do it!  Snaps break.

Stick with MALICE clips or something made of webbing like Paraclete or TAGs style.  If you fold the webbing enough, you don't need the stiffening plastic.  Mark made some pouches for me like that a long time ago an they worked great!
