It's just like a gas or spring sniper if I'm not mistaken.  The action is easier to cycle on a gas powered shotgun, however if you're using it for cqb the spring will be pretty weak so it doesn't really make a difference. I've used both types of shotguns before in a cqb setting, and never really noticed a difference in them.  Fun as hell to play with, I might add.

I have a PEQ box on my weapons so I have the advantage of having a laser AND a flashlight.  The laser is, more than anything, a dead giveaway.  However if used correctly it can be a very effective scare tactic, as in "holy shit those guys have lasers I better run" (which yes, has happened in a few rare instances).  Using a tactical light with a pressure switch has been the most effective in my experience as far as cqb goes, it kind of temporarily disorients targets and allows you to take them out before they shoot you.

Troubleshooting / mp7 semi-auto fix

Recently in the past month or so, my KWA mp7 has been experiencing issues firing continuously in semi auto, as in it would stop firing until I re-chambered a round and then it would continue.  I took it apart the other day and thought I fixed the problem, but after about 30 rounds it completely stopped firing in semi. Full-auto and the safety still work flawlessly.  Any ideas as to what the cause is?

Welcome! 
While personally preferring gas guns, I would recommend an AEG if you are a new player.  They are generally much cheaper and easier to maintain and buy upgrades for.  Just a suggestion..
