Recommend a Reliable, Non M9/Glock/1911 GBB
« on: April 08, 2013, 11:27:11 AM »
I have never been a fan of the 1911, glocks, or M9 pistols. I own a Sig P229 and I used to own a live fire xDM, but I'm trying to find a nice GBB that's a little more unique and preferably with a threaded barrel. I doubt I'll use a suppressor often, but the option would be nice. I would like to see muzzle velocity at or around high 200's or low 300's. I've taken a fancy to the HK line up when I was shopping for real steel and I enjoyed shooting a buddy's live fire CZ75, but I am still too new to know what brands make the most reliable models of (insert gun here).

So if anyone wants to show some gun love and let me know what you recommend and why, I would appreciate it greatly.

KWA's HK series. It's not an M9, Glock or 1911 and it's made by KWA. Can't go wrong KWA GBB's.

If you're in for an HK or CZ pistol, check out KWA. They manufacture the full line of licensed HK pistols and also make a nifty CZ75 clone that suppose to be pretty sweet. Now, you're shelling out $150+ for the gun new, but that's the way it goes. Otherwise, WE has their clones of the Mauri PX4 Storm, SA XD, and S&W M&P. Nothing else is really springing to mind at the moment, but I could imagine there's quite a few out there.

I heard a rumor that the KWA brand is proprietary with their parts and magazines. Is this true? As of now, I've only dealt with KJ Works. I've been having mag leak issues with them. Are the KWA less prone to mag leaks or is this an issue across the board with non-CO2 Gas Pistols?

A good recommendation on which O-rings to buy and places to buy them would be nice. I imagine Ace Hardware would have them. I just won't know which size and my stock O Rings are more like square rings. That makes comparison a little harder. Heheh...

Leaky mags can occur with any gun. It's the curse of gas guns. Moondog o-rings are suppose to be the best, but then again, almost any small o-ring could work.

KWA is proprietary, just like most gas guns are. Propane also voids the warranty, so keep that in mind.
