OP: Olympus Inferno (Game 6)
Sierra Vista Airsoft (SVA) and Knight Watch Productions is proud to present the 6th biweekly Operation: Olympus Inferno on Saturday, September 21, 2013. Operation Olympus Inferno is a continuous 5 month MilSim campaign recreating the liberation of Georgia from the Russians during the “5-day War”. The previous games have all been successful with two VIPs from Georgia and Slovakia, a dedicated photographer, and a dedicated team of organizers.
To see what SVA has organized in the past, please visit:
http://www.meetup.com/Sierra-Vista-Airsoft

Scenario:
The Georgian/Russian conflict continues!

Both sides swarm into new territory, but this requires that they acquire the materials to set up their team's command bunker. This entails finding and assembling the actual building materials for the structures! Using the Knight Watch Bunker System, the teams will have to build and defend their own custom fortifications. They will also have to comb the battlefield for their assets: bunker pieces, first aid kits, patrol routes and the location of the enemy CP. If either the Russian's or Georgian's flag is captured and taken to the opponent's base, the territory is claimed and the overrun team must flee the battlefield.

This conflict will require both team's to utilize the skills of patrolling, ambushing, raiding, and defending.

This event is by RSVP only. Your RSVP will let the organizers cater the scenario and its props to the number of attendees. Leadership positions and Non-player characters will also reflect the RSVP roster. http://www.meetup.com/Sierra-Vista-Airsoft

This game will have a very ambitious twist to the game play.  Using the Knight Watch Modular Bunker system, the teams will be able to construct their own unique Command Post bunker(s) and then defend it. Who says you can't have a little CQB where ever you want?

Below are a few pictures of the system.
1. The frame work is laid out.
2. The panels have black plastic clamped to them
3. Now you have walls over 6' high, and instant rooms, hallways, windows and doorways.

I'm betting this is going to add some interesting dynamics to the mission sets.  Imagine a scavenger hunt where you have to collect the pieces necessary to build your Command Post while in hostile territory.  Sounds fun? Come check it out!

The plan is to use a double layer of 6 Mil plastic.  This will be tested this weekend during the Knight Watch CQB workshop.  If the BBs can still penetrate the panels, then we are going to buy 30 Mil plastic that will surely serve as an impenetrable wall.

A group of us used a similar idea for a portable kill house.  Instead of plastic, we used some cheap tarps from Harbor Freight, and instead of PVC pipe we used galvanized steel tubing.  Not as light or compact when transporting, but it did the trick well enough.  The tarps prevented BBs from penetrating.

You can add me +1 (possibly 2) to the Georgian roster (tan).  Looking forward to checking out this AO.

Tarps and PVC were a key part of my racegun course, ended up never building more then two panels, but it worked really well.

The double layered plastic did nothing to stop the BBs. We did some further testing and discovered simple sheets of cotton stopped any penetration. So, the plan is now to combine the opacity of the black plastic with the impenetrableness of the black sheet.  All for the love of airsoft.

Airsofter1, I've notionally added you and possible +2 to the roster. If you have time, drop by the MeetUp page and finalize the RSVP roster. http://www.meetup.com/Sierra-Vista-Airsoft/events/139378272/   I hope you enjoy the game.
