Do you know the families at all? Could be a good opportunity to educate. If that is not an option with the family then that is your only option then.

Careful where you play since a lot of area appears to be off limits now.

I do not think I have ever seen a game like that. Closest thing is when a group goes up and camps out before a game, drink, then go out stumbling with . bbs flying.

There has been the occasional person talking about dong something like that but to get enough people interested that will actually sow up will be challenging.

Wal-Mart propane cans can't do that (explode from the heat in the car), can they?

I believe the actual propane bottle are built stronger then the airsoft green gas cans, I never had any issues with a propane bottle.

Do not leave it in your car.
Do not keep full bottles in the sun.

As long as you do that you should be alright.

Sounds good to me.

You are not going get reliable information with a poll like this. Besides the issue of asking the internet the type of field is going make a differences, its location, how large, what the "terrain" will be and so on.

AEG's / Re: m249 battery
« on: July 22, 2009, 11:29:53 AM »
I personally been running a 11 Lipo in my Echo M249 which I believe is just an A&K. Now I have taken apart my gear box and had it reshimmed and replaced some of the shitty parts and it has been fin so far. It has been in 2 Lion Claws and multiple games.

I also expect it to fail at any moment, Lipos are just more stress on the gear box, so expect it to wear faster. If you are alright with the idea it will fail sooner then you are good to go.

For practical use there is only a couple roles.

AEG, closest to something like a rifleman. Majority of people are here, choose your flavor of AEG.
Support Weapons, SAWs and similar are good for sustain fire.
Grenade Launcher, this is useful if there is vehicles and other very limited situations you rarely come across.

AEG and Support weapons are the only practical load outs. Grenade launcher in limited situations.

Then there is the great debate about snipers. My view, useless unless you just like the style of weapon to carry around. Only time I seen snipers useful is at large OPs where they act as recon, but then its about the person being able to move rather then weapon. AEG's have the same range when it is all done with and have following shots for accuracy.

Just a heads up, just because there is no "No Trespassing" signs posted does not make it fair game. Trespassing is trespassing regardless of signage. With people playing on the land with no problems does not justify it as well. your best bet would be to contact the rangers like you appear to be planning on.
