Flash hider not coming off
« on: December 05, 2011, 06:39:22 PM »
Just received the M4 RDW: http://www.evike.com/product_info.php?cPath=21_44_211&products_id=31399

I have been trying to remove the flash hider, but it wont budge. I just want to know if anyone knows if this is permanently fixed, glued, or something? Because at the moment im just stripping paint. I probably should have gotten the 230$ version, but oh well.

Halp!

It'll be glued on. The best way I found to remove the flash hider is to heat up some water to very hot or either boiling and stick the flash hider in the water just enough to cover the glue and let it stay in the water for a few minutes then it should be able to twist off. You might have to use some pliers to help with it but remember to take the inner barrel and hop up out of the gun and just stick the outer barrel in the water.

prolly a dumb answer but did you try twisting it both ways. Usually they are reverse-threaded

I have the exact gun. I took off my flash hider with some heat applied to the threads but be careful to not bend the rings around the flash hider and there is a rubber ring on the inside of the flash hider that holds the tbb in place so be aware.
