Those brass rings come with the Systema hop buckings like Kurn said.  I don't think it will work with the stock Marui M4 hop bucking unless you trim it back.  The Systema ones are a bit shorter so the brass ring will fit.  It must be the newer Classic Army guns coming through with them... I haven't seen any yet with one.

I have a fairly new CA SPC and it did not come with the ring, but it did come with the Systema hop up I ordered. All you have to do is slide it over the end of the barrel and let it slide down into the front of the hop up unit.

*Wipes sweat off forehead*  I'm done for a while trying to put my CA M15A4 back together.  Its so simple when you look at it, just one pin, all you got to do is put the pin back in and your done.  Well I dont know about other CA M15's but I have to have the holes line up perfectly and when and IF I do the pin still does not go in easy.  Im just going to let it sit there on the table and glare at it from time to time.  I took it apart before, and after wrestling with it somehow I managed to get the pin back in.  But this just seems to be way too much work, its rediculas.

I took it apart this second time to fix my hop up unit from the first time I took it apart.  I got everything in the unit now where it is supposed to go.  I wish mine just came apart as easy as those ICS M4s lol.

Sometimes the wires that run to the forgrip can get in the way when you are trying to get the pin back through and not let you close it up all the way.  Had that happen almost every time I took it apart.  I have taken mine apart about 4 times now and the pin seems to come out and go in easier each time so I think you just have to do it a few times for the holes to loosen up.

Also I dropped my gun off with TheCrow tonight so he is going to look at it and see if it can be fixed or what I need to buy to fix it.
Hopefully I won't need to buy a new hopup!

Yeah, after looking at it, it was a wire being crammed where it should of been.  It was hidding in there the little devil.  It made it alot easier to get back together, still not the easiest but easier.

Those new CA bodies are super-easy to reassemble, as long as everyhitn is in it's place.  I remember playing with Matt's and was amazed at how easy it was.  Just like the ABS Marui body as far as re-assembly goes.

The aftermarket metal bodies (and older CA bodies, as I recall) are a bit more difficult.

If you do buy the systma hop up unit you have to mod out your TM body. Thats what I had to do.

The newer CA guns are even nicer.  Instead of both takedown pins holding the upper to the lower only the fron pin needs to come out to seperate the two halves.  They incorporated a couple alingment pins at the rear of the upper and lower receivers so when you slide the two together you just line up the pins with the wholes and insert your front take down pin.  People have been slamming CA for not coming up with their own designs, but I'm telling you that they do.  The improvements that they've been incorporating into their new M4/M16 style guns is great.  I can't wait to see what they come up with next.

I find the new CA method of dis-assembly/re-assembly awesome. As long as everything is where its suppossed to be....its a snap.

Well here is the story, Vell game me a call back and said that the hopup bucking is torn and I need a new one, and also the u-shaped piece that holds the inner barrel in alignment which I broke in half, it needs to be replaced also and that is not sold separatly.  So do any of you have this u-shaped piece?  I plan to just buy the bucking and have found it for about 8 bucks on combatdepot but if any of you have an extra or know of some other place that has it for cheaper but without overseas shipping costs then I would buy it.
And if I cant get those spair parts I am just going to have to buy a whole new hopup unit.  Can get it for about 30 bucks on airsoft gi.

So do any of you got these pieces lying around?

Jeez, I'm going to have to start charging for all these small pieces.  I've got a hop bucking and the U shaped clip too.  I'll let you have both for $10.

I know you said you were going to a LAN party in Tempe.  If you see this before you head back to Glendale give me a call on Sunday and we can meet.  602.228.0267

I still have his gun.  If he wants the parts, just bring them over and I'll put them in.

Need a new hop-up for my M15A4
« Reply #13 on: March 23, 2004, 09:51:33 PM »
For some reason the hopup on my gun is all screwy and is killing the range and fps of my gun. I checked it out and the bucking is torn and a small  plastic U shaped piece broke off when I took out the inner barrel.  Some of you at the game on Sat. saw how crappy the range was so I am looking to getting a new hopup and bucking.  Is there a difference between the different ones or should I buy a specific one?  Money isnt really an issue so if it costs 50 bucks I wouldnt care.
Combatdepot.com has a few but I am not sure which to buy.  So what would you guys suggest.
