I just want to know what other assault rifles are good besides the TM which is kinda high priced.

I've got 3 boys with Chinese knock off AEGs and spring pistols and the 4 of us want to spend some coin on new rifles, but don't want to go broke.

Thanks,

That realy comes down to your price range and what options you want. There are a few raging debates in the AEG section about CA, TM, ICS, SRC, G&G etc...

If you consider TM to be high priced, check out SRC, slightly cheaper but can can still give you the reliability and look you want. These can be had locally at jungle toy stores.

I have owned two SRC guns in the past, a second generation M16 and a third  generation M4.  I was quite pleased with both of the guns.  They usually only start breaking if you start messing around with the internal parts.  Given the fact that cost is a concern and you mentioned kids, I would assume upgrades aren't really a concern.  Therefore I would definitely recommend taking a look at SRC guns.  However the new models with metal bodies and all aren't really any cheaper than a Marui.

One other option (depending on exactly what type of clones you currently have) would be to get a complete Marui gearbox for the existing guns.  You can usually find them at either WGC or UNCompany for around $100 each.  That would give you the reliability and performance of a Marui.  If you are going for looks then Marui isn't really the way to go.

What style of guns are you looking for?  Many consider Marui's AK's to be one  of the best models they ever made.

Lastly, you might also consider checking for used ones in the For Sale section or ebay.

SRC - I'll start looking.

Don't care about looks, but price & quality means I don't go broke or spend a ton of time fixing them either.

I saw the TM AKs - not bad.

And yes, I'm checking Ebay and the sites...

Still can't believe the prices... talk about sticker shock for "toys"  8)

Well a toy to some, I see airsoft as a cheap way to train in a force on force environment. It is no replacement for weapons skillset training, but it does work other areas of battlefield problem solving and building good reloading habits.

You could spend easily the price of a good AEG on ammo for a training course or high level multi-gun competition.

You might also want to look at a brand called Echo 1.  I've been hearing good things about them lately and will probably be getting one for LC6.  The AKs run somewhere around $130ish and are TM compatible.

Get the Jing Gong. Same gun just repackaged. M4s go for about 120 and Aks 99. Airsoftgi has the best prices for them, thats where I buy mine. They just released an AUG. The only problem is that Version 2 JGs shoot to hot stock. About 400 with .2s.

Even though I have no JGs. Not much of an AK or M4 fan.

Yeah me to! When I just ordered my new scope I got this DVD of a mini airsoft game. It was pretty sick. There guns looks kinda fake though idk maybe when they went to the status type view thing it was low quality.

I don;t know how these compare to Jungle Toy but Den trinit has had some sweet deals on SRC's. They're around $170.

Echo 1 is great, i own and use a CA CQB, so that and an my old TM were my comparisons. after handling and firing my brothers Echo 1 M733, i was genuinely impressed. it felt brick solid, no barrel wobble. fired strong, fast, far and straight. has metal in all the same places as TM, but some of the parts are cut differently.

great gun, it surpassed my expectations. I would definately choose Echo 1 before TM, granted that Echo 1 makes the model i might be looking for
