"It's a sign that we're all a little nervous in the post-9/11 world."

There's an excuse for stupidity. They uncovered to plot to fund the next terrorist attack with "1 MILLION" $2.00 bills.

Just goes to show you that the terrorists are DEFINITELY winning this war no matter what the gooberment and news tells you.  They've got us so paranoid that we'll turn on each other in a heart beat from fear.

You have to admit that probably wasn't the best idea.

With regards to the arrests, I'd sue Best Buy.  Probably some dumbass kid trying to be a hero by "cracking the case"!

"It's a sign that we're all a little nervous in the post-9/11 world."

Because our gravest worry is that elderly terorists will try and ruin the american economy by flooding it with $2 bills. LOL

I don't think that this shows that people are paranoid because of 9/11, I just think it shows that people are just plain stupid. Only one of these examples had anything to do with "suspicious activity" and is just reveals the typical American "arrest or sue your @$$ for anything I can think of" syndrome and not post 9/11 terrorism worries. that cashier lady is a retard, saying she doesn't have to take them if she doesn't want to.  money is money as long as its real, and she did check it with the pen.  She didn't have to bring the cops in on this though, crazy lady.

...first i would sue best buy and then the cashier.

Once marked with the pen, if the bill in question turns brown, merchants know it is counterfeit.

If it turns brown that means its real, if the ink turns black its fake.  The daily times makes the person that accepted the fake 40's seem not that bad.

I'm going to start working on a 19.95 bill. With so many offers for that amount, it should catch on ... right?

I'll take one of those!   When I was buying my car I was going through and thinking of what options I wanted.  One one option the sales guy quoted me $199.  So, as I was thinking about it out loud I kept saying um..$200 for this option and everytime I said that, the sales guy would say $199. Like that makes a difference! LoL

At my work its yellow if its real, brown if its fake. I do this on a daily basis.

Just goes to show there are ignorant people everywhere. I cant believe the lady said she didnt have to take those bills, it says right on them they are legal tender for all debts public and private... I've had people question the new tri-colored 20 Dollar bills. and I remember when the Saqaguweah (or however you spell it) dollars came out people questioned those too... I mean, wtf. And just the other day a lady was eying me suspiciously and did the pen check twice on one of the older 20's with the smaller picture. I mean come on. This is not a problem caused by terrorists, It's a problem caused by the degredation of our school system and lower skills (read intelligence) of our work force.
