Did anyone else see myspaces homepage today?
« on: February 02, 2009, 02:43:17 PM »
Today I logged onto myspace and saw this.

I couldnt believe my eyes, the fact that Myspace, one of the biggest social networks in the world, that is owned by AOL actually supported the 2012 fanatics.[not to say that AOL didnt get a big check from them for doing it]

Checkout thier website, they call themselves the "Institute for human continuity". And theyre giving out lottery ticktes for survival...give me a break.
http://www.instituteforhumancontinuity.org/#/home

They belive that a mysterious planet is going to crash into the earth...we can see astroids smaller than a state before they even enter our suns orbit, but yet they believe that somehow all the credible scientists in the world missed a friggin planet...I could go on and on, make your own judgements.

It is a viral marketing scheme, it may seem unrelated but they do that so you will be more inclined to spread it around.

It's not even a very subtle one.  If you click on the privacy policy at http://www.instituteforhumancontinuity.org, you get this page:

ya I noticed that today.  I was at a friend's house, and it shocked both of us. even if it is a not-so-subtle ad for a movie, I still think its wrong.  these people are nuts....  While they are all hiding in caves in 3 years, We'll all be out enjoying life =D

Even if it was about that end of the world crap, remember, it's still a business.  If I owned a webpage and someone wanted to pay me for advertising some crap I didn't agree with, screw it, it's about the money.
