The only thing about a heli is how stable would it be? the camera feed would go all over the place and would require heavy modding for the transmitter to be put in, I have a question, anyone got an old laptop or portable DVD player?  :D

Im starting to look into helis and i might go with that, but if anyone is going to blood money and wants me to bring it out to test i need extra $$$, Buy some of my stuff on sale so i can finish this project before then please =D

you can use a really old lap top, tons of people have those rotting in their closets right next to their zip discs and 8 tracks

i have a TI travelmate 4000 and a epson work book :-s any teckies know how to rig a video feed to that old stuff?

anything is possible..

Well i went with the Heli platform, its just easier and cheaper as well, that MQ9 reaper i flew, it handles horribly and is extremely weight sensitive, i mean to a few grams in the wrong spot, and it would require upgrades and blah blah blah

Heli is just a better platform

Wrong. The package is just for a base airframe, you would need to add your own motor, radio, servos, camera, and if you want to get live video some sort of FPV system. Watch the video on the link.

I am learning about this, but I stand by my comment that it could only be feasible for an enormous game (100+ attendees). Small games move too fast, and I can guarantee your team mates will get really tired of you yelling over the radio with positions of enemies they can already see.

OH, okay. i didn't pay too much attention to the page, i just glanced over it   #-o

and i would have to agree on the size issue.. and furthermore, this could be a valuable asset if there was alot of ground to cover..

for example, tan needs to find an enemy position, asset, hostages/VIP's, etc... the organizer could make it so that tan needs to secure the UAV, which will help them locate the objective. of course this would work best in an environment that has lots of cover and/or terrain with lots of natural features that obscure your line of site on the ground

just an idea  :P

I do agree this is for bigger events, not small ones, I just received most of what i need today from UPS, all i need now is the camera, Transmitter and receiver, and to save me some cash, if an event organizer or someone attending the event wants this system to be used, they can provide their own viewing method, It probably won't be done until next month considering all the bills that just flooded in.

Yes thats true, A quad rotor configuration would be Stable, But would be much more expensive, You would need 4 different motors, all the parts, Easily just 1000 dollars on parts and stuff for the aircraft. And i saw on the comment about them making this for the military, it would be stupid if its not cheaper than these, If you've never seen it its a good read, and dream  :D http://www.draganfly.com/
