Planning on picking it up on the tenth. Good to hear it's worth purchasing.
IMHO COD4 was one of the best XBOX titles made...before Fallout3 that is.
-
Already got it preordered :D

This game is going to be amazing! The opening level alone sold me.

www.piratebay.org. Haven't even unrarred it yet so i can't say whether it works but there were good comments when i dl'd it last week.

Is this the part where you post up in an hour and say 'oh, lol, it was a fake' ?
Dude, your days of pathological lying should be long behind you.

Hmm...not even sure how to respond to that.....

I have my pre-order at GameStop in North Scottsdale. They said they're expecting, as many GameStops are, a major shortage on the game within the first 2 days. I can't wait to see what kind of numbers MW2 pulls in terms of sales. I would think it's going to smoke any other game, including Halo and GTA.
-
It might smoke Halo, but GTA IV has some crazy impressive sales numbers. What they need to do is combine both, just imagine rolling around the GTA universe with a squad of MW2 soldiers! Fun to dream sometimes...

TPB finally put it back up again. The demonoid link wasn't working.
-
I deleted the link, Andy.
There will be no posting of illegal pirated shit on this forum. There are other forums for that.
Carry on.
-
TPB finally put it back up again. The demonoid link wasn't working.
Christian already touched on the link and why we don't do that; also, you posted a link to a non-scene release of encrypted Steam GCFs that you won't even be able to play.
The only thing worse than a liar is one that won't drop it when he's called out.
-
...but good luck with playing that.
-
Demonoid has been down since before COD6 even started a beta, so good luck with that.....

Beginning on September 14, 2009, the website went offline. A message was posted on the homepage stating that "We might have to shut down everything to fix and prevent further damage," and that it could be "days maybe, until we can change the power circuit."[22] For the first twelve days of downtime, a statement was posted on the main page, reading, "Maintenance: We will be back as soon as possible, but this will probably be a prolonged downtime. Thank you for your patience." On September 26, an update was added to the page: "The site will return as soon as possible, but there was a problem that caused data loss and the person who can help us get the data back is not able to help at this moment. The site will return when we can get his help. A loss of a some months worth of activity including registered users and torrent submissions is to be expected because the backup we are hoping to get back is not up to date, so please be prepared for it."
On October 8, a list of suggested alternate trackers was posted.[6]
On November 4th 2009, the tracker (the portion of the service that communicates with a BitTorrent client) began responding to some or all torrents, however the website (which provides search function and .torrent downloads) was still down.

edited.
Nope, just Campaign, Multiplayer, and Special Ops.

Multiplayer is slightly better than COD4.

Anybody else find the red button in the Museum?

Anybody else find the red button in the Museum?
No....but i did find a red ring.... *sob :(
-
My impressions of the game:
-the minigun is all fuckered up. Big time.
-the rest of the guns aren't much better.
I hope any sequel / expansion has a much better technical advisor. Or one, period. It's as if they paid a gamer to tell them what's up re: the weapons.

It should be noted that Mikey is drinking a Mickey's 40 in this photo. =D>

Did Mikey FINISH that 40? :-&
Games badass. Played some at Vinces and a bit at another friends house. Just multiplayer. My skill has diminished since I stopped playing console games and suck with the controllers now, but I still had fun trying it out. I couldn't stay alive for more than a few seconds doing whatever Vince and I were playing, and I was barely the loser playing multiplayer vs. :(

*spoiler*
I dont get the level where he launches the nuke on DC, did it actually detonate on the ground? or just above space (think its the later)? Overall thoguh it was a good game, I've started doing some of the special ops stuff, and i think its a good challenge.
If anyone wants to play online or anyhing hit me up on steam"

He set it to detonate in space over DC and the resulting blast released an EMP over the whole eastern seaboard, his goal was to take out pretty much everything electrical so it would just be all infantry focused in DC.

Again, they need a technical adviser.
These game developers have watched way too many movies.
EMP from space? Wow.
-
no, that actually would happen, a high-order nuclear detonation in the inner atmosphere would have that effect...not worldwide, but in a localized area

"For example, a nuclear weapon detonated at an altitude of 400 kilometers over the central United States would cover, with its primary electromagnetic pulse, the entire continent of the United States and parts of Canada and Mexico."
They've been warning about this for a few years now.
I'm hearing mixed reviews about this game.
-
Didnt they do high altitude nucular tests in the 60's or something, that caused all the electroincs in Hawaii to stop working for a day or something?
and what about the explosion that destroyed the satalities..... The one you were on was at least a few hundred miles away...

The AK especially brought a tear to my eye. But they didn't get anything Russian right in the game, let alone the stuff they should've known better on.
Accuracy aside, I really hate the strawberry jelly they try to pass of as blood when you get shot.

I'm not sure about this, but would the force even transfer through a vacuum? I'd think not.

You didn't like the Uber Tacticool AKs of five years into the future?
I was quite disappointed in the game.
Those heartbeat sensors were lame.
ACOGs sucked Major ASS
Some of the "Special Ops" Games were like playing airsoft.
The Knife part of the ending was kinda cool, But unrealistic.
As stated before, They need a real Technical Advisor.
The first game was better.
All in All I'm glad I didn't pay for it.
-
Any1 want to co-op special ops tomorrow?
I thought the single player was a little short, but meh it was decent.

They do have technical advisors..Just like hollywood movies. But do you think that all these little kids would enjoy the game as much if it were ACTUALLY realistic. ](*,)

Hollywood MILSIM=Lots of shooting and blowing shit up
Airsoft MILSIM=Hollywood MILSIM
Games=Hollywood MILSIMx9000
REAL MILSIM=Packing 9000 sandbangs, driving out to the middle of shitsville, waiting all day for a pick up, and coming back to camp

They can at least get the guns right. It's a gun game.

I know what would happen. I went to a school for that sort of thing. EMP isn't like they make it out to be in movies. Would you like me to make you a NBC4 report?

I've been in the military for five years and I have never touched a single sandbag. That's what fuckups and LN's are for.
I think the game is fun. It should not be described as realistic, by any means.
-
no, leah can make me an NBC4 report

Yeah the pulse would travel through a vacuum, think about light waves and x-rays and all sorts of other waves that don't need a medium to travel through, same concept with the EMPs.
-
EMPs are purely energy based. it makes an electromagnet field that disrupts electrical circuits through magnetic induction...
http://science.howstuffworks.com/e-bomb1.htm
-
Not the EMP, the actual explosive force of the nuclear missile, which tears apart the ISS and sends the astronaut on his merry way.
-
Buncha interweb astrophysicists, here.
Vince, she's really good at them. You don't get to be in the top three in a class of 50 by fucking up critical fallout plots.
-

ohh! i cant explain that...

Did Mikey FINISH that 40? :-&
2 Mickeys 40s. It helped with the motion sickness.

Ive gotta agree with azsarge about the guns, I couldnt help but notice all the screwups with the game. like the g18c without a fire selector, the acu massada. oh and lets not forget about the Russians using Tavor 21's and AUGs in addition to AKs... I mean really, its pretty basic knowlege that organized forces dont mix and match ammunition and magazine types for basic infantry weapons, let alone Russians using Israele firearms.
-
Everything about the Russians in the game, from their speech to weaponry to equipment is so haphazard and generic that it's just as likely that they're actually Belgians, South Africans, or Martians. I think accuracy suffered so terribly because of the focus on multiplayer. I avert my snobbish gaze in great disdain [-(

The ACR.

The ACR.
Yeah I forgot Bushmaster bought the rights to it.

Not Bushmaster, but their parent company Cerberus. Cerberus also owns Remington, and have since placed the ACR under the Remington Military Division.
Also noteworthy in the RMD line is the Modular Sniper Rifle. I'm sure it will be in video games, if it isn't already.
-
Cerberus also owns Chrysler, and owns part of GMC if im not mistaken, just a big investment firm

So does this mean the ACR will not be on the civilian market anytime soon? I know theres been a bunch of talk about a civilian version for a while.

That's it. I have not even handled one yet, but I'll be sure to check it out at SHOT.
I'm not sure what you mean by civilian version, as I'm unaware of any contracts or plans by a US gov't entity to purchase the ACR. The ACR is the ACR.
As for when it will hit the market? I'll believe it when I see it on the shelves. There are plans, and I believe it will happen, but it will likely end up like the Tan-framed HK45.
That said, all my info regarding the ACR was acquired as a consumer, so I'm no authority on the matter.
-
Eh, I finally got a chance to install this and play it...Although the new weapons and missions were cool, I was really upset the campaign was so fast..Special ops stuff is ok.
-
i dont know what the fuck the dudes that made it were thinking, but the BUTCHERED the mutliplayer. ill stick with call of duty 4, thanks...
