He's 13, he can't help it. (sorry had to say it)

For those of you who haven't been to Freedom before, I would just like to point out it is pretty easy to miss the first time, so you have to keep an eye out for it.  It's not bright yellow like Larada's, it looks more like a Mini Mart than an Army surplus.

I know it is SPF, I was just curious about the size because I am 6'2, 270 lbs and quite large.  Most "fully adjustable" one size fits all vest don't come close to fitting me.

Um, wow, you are the first person I have ever heard say the MP5s were better than the M4's.  Every person I have talked to says ICS's Mp5 suck.  Bad.

I have never had a sturdiness issue with my ICS casing and it has a 140 spring in it right now.

No, they don't call it a G3 because it is not a G3.  It is based off the HK51.  While the HK51 is a G3 variant, it is not a normal G3.  The G3KA4 was the smallest G3 HK made (12.4" barrel).

The HK51 is a smaller version made by mostly American manufacturers who wanted a 7.62mm gun, but they did not want a 12.4" barrel.  The HK51 while based off the G3 was not produced by HK.  ImpactGuns had a Fleming made HK51 for a while.

SRC can be broken down this way (IMO):

Generation 1: Do not touch these.  Period.  Ever.  Not even if you are paid to.
Generation 2: Hit and miss.  Some (such as myself) got VERY good, reliable guns.  Others did not.
Generation 3+: These are finally respectable products.  I was very happy with my Generation 3.  It shot quite nice, and the rate of fire was actually noticeably faster than some of my other stock guns.  I would definitely consider another Gen 3 SRC if I was in the market for a stock AEG.

Whiskey, what you say is true, however my point was even if you toss out the internals there is still a very good reason to keep the ICS.  Unmatched internal modularness (is that even a word).

I can go from Sniper to CQB (Included inner barrel and front assembly) in about 2 minutes.  Velocity changes from 330fps to 450fps+.  How many other AEG's can say that?

In addition, the spring tension release may be the most underrated feature in all of airsoft.

So Chris, if you have your heart set on getting a new M4 varient, I would at least consider using the ICS casing and body because of the ease of upgrade and the spring tension release.

What brand AR?  You hear a lot of good about the actual Colt versions, however you also pay for the name.  I have heard mixed feelings about DPMS (mostly good), however they have two models I really like (.308 SASS and Agency Carbine) for decent prices.  I have heard mostly bad things about the S&W versions (although most people who like them swear by them) and they are really cheap in most cases.  Olympic Arms has some unique models (like a model that takes Glock 40 mags) for decent prices.

Regarding purchase, personal opinion, check how much your closest dealer/shop would charge to order it to you.  That way you have someone handy if you have any questions.

I have owned two SRC's an Gen 2 M-16 and a Gen 3 M-4 and have found them to be quite reliable.  They are bone stock and like most AEG's will be alot more reliable if you leave them that way.  I would say you should at least consider SRC.

I wasn't aware that G&G made a G3.  They make the FS51, but that is not a G3 (similar, but not a G3).

Which models in particular were you looking at?

Out of curiosity, what is wrong with your ICS?  $500 is enough to replace all of the internals at which point you have a standard AEG only with the convience of a split gear box.  I am currently using an ICS gearbox and body on my gun.  In the lower I have a System Super Torque Up Motor and Full Systema 120 (pulled from the System complete kit) internals.  I have 2 Uppers and Front ends for the guns, one sniper and one CQB.  I like it, I would never get a different M4 varient.

That said, I agree with Whiskey, every body and their mom has an M4 varient.  Get the M14 (or get your existing gun working).  Last AA game I went to it seemed like Spaz and I had P-90's and everybody else had M4's.  If you have to get an M4, at least do something to it to make it stand out.

Real Firearms / DPMS AR-15 (Agency Model) or FN FS2000

I have been planning on getting an AR-15 for quite some time now (will be using my tax refund for it), but now I am considering the FS2000 instead.  I like the FS2000, but it costs a couple hundred more than the AR and the AR includes an EOTech, Surefire Rail + Light.  Anyone here own an FS2000?  What is your opinion?

I will either buy it straight out or I have some items I am looking to get rid of.  I will send a PM with details of what I am looking to get rid of.  Either way works for me, it is up to you.  Where would be a good place to meet?

Which motor is it?  I might be interested, but I won't have the money until the 15th.  Also, I would like to see it first.  When would be the best time for you to be at JT?  I am there several nights a week, after 6-6:30p.
