I realized that the Maps were formatted by D,M,S but the values were D, M.mm on Thursday and Woo noticed that the coordinates were 10sec off so we made adjustments and it seemed to work for us although not having a marker for the mine field and moving the communication tower really tested our confidence in our GPS's but dead reckoning allowed us to confirm many of our locations.
What totally amazed me was even in the face of all the bad intel we received, we were still able to take the initiative, complete missions, stay motivated, and win. I would rather see a group of men prevail in the worst of scenarios and win by the grit of your teeth and you guys did exactly that.
I had a feeling during the first mission that if our intel was bad then Alpha's wasn't any better. Alpha did the best they could given the circumstances and gave a hell of a fight on Sunday.
Mikey, it was an honor to salute you. You have that rare born leadership quality that makes you an easy person to follow (Mikey paid me to say that)
Ed, you guys were abused so much as the point squad and yet you guys never complained. You went to ground and never looked back. (Until you hit the Alpha FOB and said “Hey where’d everybody go?â€) lol
Eric, You and your guys were the foundation without which we could not have survived, Wherever a gap started to form your team was there to stop it. (I think you read some of the Alpha guys their rights)
Skylar, your team saved the day more than once. Watching your guys sweeping in from the flanks was just an amazing sight to behold. (Anybody tells me a Hawaiian is lazy… I’ll bitch slap them and Vince, I caught you being a damn fine leader when Sky got hit, you sneaky bastard)
To all the men of 2nd Platoon Bravo… Thanks for being our weapon, thanks for being motivated, and thanks for letting me serve you.
Kilo 42, YOU ARE CRAZY!!! And I would follow you anywhere!
GREEN 5 OUT!
