CA25 ----Upgrade parts----
« on: February 07, 2007, 10:08:34 AM »
was shooting fine, then it started making this sound. The gun is practically new,  just out of curiosity what could be making the gun have this horrible sound? I have only shot .2 & .23 BB's out the gun, haven't even shot thru a full high cap mag yet. not to happy after all the money invested in the gun this early in the game you know
 :(

Hopefully AZ paintball Depot will honor there gauratee.

Sounds like possibly a stripped gear, won't know for sure till you break it open.

No haven't upgraded it yet ( probley going to have az paintball upgrade it while they make warranty repairs, do they do good upgrade work??? I know that labor is free since I bought it there.) does anyone know of parts that AZ paintball has on hand they would recomend installing? systema??? end goal for this gun is 500+fps it also has a metal spring **EDIT**guide is that adventageous to me in any way??? I asume that means I can put a heavy duty spring in correct???  The Total I'm willing to invest into upgrades right now is somewhere around $200.......also I am using a 9.6v 4200mah battery is that to much for the gun in its stock form???

Thank you all for your help

Whats a spring guard?  A spring guide maybe? If so, that has nothing to do with putting a heavier spring in.  A 9.6v should be ok. There are a lot of factors that play into this though.

Ok let me know if I'm on the right track here as far as ordering parts for upgrading (I'm just going to have them repair the gun to functionning status then try my hand at upgrading it myself) here is what the list is so far:

Systema Super torque up flat gear set

Systema Magnum Motor (Long)

Prometheus Hard Piston

Systema Aluminum piston head with bearings

Madbull Ver. 2 Precision Barrel for PSG1 Plus ----????

Airsoft Surgeon Stage 6 spring

Anything else I should be getting other than grease and shims?
Any predictions on functionality at this time?

Go with a Systema polycarb piston and silent head set. Also, make sure you have upgraded bearings, if you don't, you will melt the older nylon ones. If I were you, I wouldn't touch the motor or gears. Also, I don't know what velocity the stage 6 spring will give you, but if it is over 500, you will need to disable automatic fire capabilities per AA rules.

Took the gun in to the shop here is the conclusion thus far:

the gears were not shimmed right, so everything got ***ked  gears and the piston, since They didn't have a proper piston ----CA25 piston is larger than a normal piston--- he shimmed up the new set of gears really good and kept the old piston in till later this week when he gets in a new piston for it, picked the gun up Satuday and got some shots off then Im almost positive the piston totaly broke (think the teeth are all gone now) the gun didn't have nearly the power after going to the shop that it did before -- hopefully due to the piston being eaten up-- anyhow there gonna take care of the piston issue for me this week, (While in the shop though I did have them put in a 650mm MadBull Black Python 6.03 Tight bore barrel), so after this piston issue is solved hopefully accuracy and FPS will be looking better than it did origanally, also added a bipod and red/green dot scope (probley going to transfer the red/gree dot to one of my M4's soon though and put something better on the CA25) and I put a differant silencer on the end of it to better hide the extended inner barrel.  pics to come tonight after work, as for the systema piston and plastic piston head that doesn't sound like something I'd want to put in this gun. Hopefully they will put in a quality piston if not I'll have to change in out with that promethius hard piston later, or possible the "super core piston"----Thanks for the tip Jack Of Hearts----
