With all of the developing discussions I find I am compelled to speak up on where I stand on the Marauders issue.

A few new airsoft players, all prior military, came into the Arizona airsoft scene a couple of years ago or so.  We wanted to have comradarie and a feeling of unity that you get from working with a team and the Marauders was born from that with three people.

Then came the Spice Boys.  Then they left.  Nuff said.

Then a little over a year ago, Marauders Airsoft became more enterprising.  While some of the original intent of having a close knit group of friends remained, the concept has outgrown the basic premise that the original three started with.

While I wish the best to anyone who strives to develop and improve airsoft as a sport, the direction of the present Marauders Airsoft and the new "Island" is far removed from the intent of the original three Marauders.

Accordingly, I will no longer be associated with the Marauders as it has become.

Wow I always realized there was an obsurd reason why it cost SO GOD DAMN MUCH to play at their paintball field thing but I never realized they were that crazy.  They really have shot themselves in the foot on this one when NO one desides to join them.  I'm with Vince on this one, there needs to be some serious compensation and some seriously badass games for 3000$  "Its for people with a real income" ok, I'm sorry but not everyone over 21 has a job that 3000$ is a commodity that can just be spent anywhere and those that do would rather spend it on beer and b00bs then to play at some "Special" place to airsoft.

Doc Hollywood welcome back to the real world, I'm glad that you desided to get outa there.  You always seemed a bit out of place with them in my oppinion.

the real world? he still plays airsoft

marauders prices are the way they because mike needs money to fund his big games and props.

how else could we have open games every week and big games every month.

prices are also for the island

oh and if ur 21 and spending ur money on "b00bs" then thats pretty sad.
beer is understandable.

$3,000 is absolutely ubsurd.  I could go to at least three national Ops with this amount of money.  I just hope the parents of the kids that are going to pay the 3K will see through this crap.

AA has big games every month with $0 budget.

At some point all of us have thought how cool it would be to have our own MOUT site in town to use for airsofting, I know I have. There are so many problems to developing such a site there is almost no way a civilian company with no capital can do it. Good luck mike.

Umm...no.

We've been having "big" games for years.  We've had props too.  AZsarge had pyrotechnics one time and all of it was FREE.

This was to make money.  Not that there is anything wrong with it, but the true reason was financial.  Mike and his group have been entrepaneurs (sp?) for as long as I have known them and years before.

Hmmm...wonder why all the people defending them, not that they are wrong, are under the age of 18 (mostly)?  You pay them, they cater to you, it is a service.

I never liked the Marauders.
Some of them are good people, but it's been clear ever since I joined the AA forums (even though I was extremely naïve) that the Marauders' intentions were based on greed, not the love of the sport. $3,000 is fuggin' ridiculous. Making money isn't a crime, but exploiting kids the way the Marauders do just flat out pisses me off.

Frankly, I don't really understand why you people say the Marauders are exploiting children. Mike and his guys started a business, nothing wrong with that. They got everything in line so they could tap a market with a significant amount of money in it, and no competition whatsoever. Hell, depending on their business plan, it might even be a worthy investment.

It's to fund a theme park.

its not a theme park.

if you dont like the price you guys have your AA games...

Like you're the one who's actually paying for it.

Why don't you spend your parents cash on something more important.
Per say a car??
