They are the best SAWs.

I have one just like that, but with a custom M4 type collapsible stock and full internal upgrades, plus a weight reduction package (Mk46 Mods).

I'll let it go for $500 or so since I never use it anymore.

PM me if you're interested.

I paid $1500 for my CA249 Para with some upgrades when it came out.  My team and I have got alot of good use out of it over the years, and it's worth every penny.

I had a chance to look at one when I was at APD and the only down side is how heavy the damn gun is. But if your not ganna be running much and you just wanna give cover fire for your team and keep the other team pinned down this is the gun you want.

You will be running just as much as the rest of your team.

I have used both the CA and Echo1 extensively in airball and have found both to perform well. Both need some lightening up but the echo 1 is a tad lighter to begin with. Get the long barrel version, you can always put on a para flash hider. The para stock is heavy.
Both can run away on you after a while because the bump switches that run the motors tend to get hot and either arc together or melt the housing and cease to turn on.

CA box mags are nice but not big enough, MAG mags need some modifications so that they don't jam, and the stock CA big mag tends to self destruct if you bang it around too much.

The echo 1 saws are not that expensive. I would not pay more than $500 for any airsoft gun, except a TH m240 or a minigun. There are plenty of used ones on the market that are in great working order.

I have had a chance to play with a VERY tricked out ECHO 1 M249 PARA. If you have some time and money you can make almost any gun an amazing tool of airsoft death dealing. BUT, I have to say, that particular model seemed very reliable and fun to shoot. Besides, they are super intimidating! I know I will be investing in an M249 very soon and will more than likely be an ECHO 1.

Question to anyone who owns or has played with both makes of this weapon: How do they compare to eachother and what were the best and worst parts of both guns?

Thanks,

CRYO

. The para stock is heavy.

The MK2 stock is much much worse. I own the A&K MK2 SAW. It is a pain to run with with the longer barrel and the long stock. Kinda awkard to shoulder to. I usualy have the stock above my shoulder and Im a pretty big guy.

Also the Para has the feeding tray rail, the MK2s dont.

If i was going to buy another SAw, Id go with the para from expericance.

Different strokes for different folks. I am mechanically inclined so adding a rail is not an issue, adding barrel length is a bit harder without adding a lot of weight.

Flying Tank

Prices for Classic Army M249s have dropped a lot since they first came out.  You can now get a new one for about $500.  The question is.  What is on the inside?  If the gun has a fully upgraded gear box, inner barrel and comes with all the accessories shown in the picture.  Then it's a good deal.  I would ask what the internal parts were upgraded with.  If he can give you an answer then I would buy.  If he can't then I would question whether it's upgraded or not and negotiate for a lower price.

Ok I got my CA M249 Para

AMAZING!

I did. However. Upgrade the barrel, the Piston and Piston Head and the spring. I definately advise upgrading to the CA Reinforced Piston with metal teeth. The gun has a high torgue motor and if your going to run a. Battery bigger than 3000 mAh you should upgrade certain internals. I started with Piston because I stripped the teeth off when I used. My 9.6v 4000mAh battery.  Oops.
