Real Firearms / Please check out HR 45 and HR 442

These bills are being presented in the House, and may impact our Second Amendment Rights.  Please read them carefully, and if you do not agree with them let your representative know.  You can find these bills at the U.S. Congress' web site.  I may be overreacting to them, but it is worth checking out.  I am sure Doc is able to shed some more light on them as well.

Does anybody have any experience with the Berretta CX4 Storm?  If so, what can you tell me about it.  Is it worth the money?

SKS, or AK47.

What are the pros and cons of each, and which makes are the most reliable?

General Airsoft Discussion / Use of Lat/Long when using a GPS
« on: April 01, 2008, 05:30:26 AM »
I have noticed that most everybody around here uses the lat/long system with there GPS instead of UTM.  Is that just for convenience?  I was under the impression that the military uses UTM.  Just currious.  I personally use UTM because of how easy it is to locate your position on a 7.5 USGS map.

Troubleshooting / Help with my M4
« on: March 13, 2008, 07:59:57 PM »
I just finished an upgrade on my M4.  I put a CA 120 spring in it, metal bushings, and reshimmed the gears.  When I put my 8.4v battery in it, it will not move the piston all the way back.  When I put the 9.6v battery in it, it fires great.  Both batteries are fully charged and work fine in other guns.  What is the problem?

Reviews / Echo1 M249 MKII
« on: January 29, 2008, 10:17:54 AM »
I paid $350.00 for mine from a local shop.  I tested it out for operation, and all seemed to work fine.  I did have to tighten the allen screw that secures the front sight, but that was all.  The instructions leave a lot to the imagination, but I guess that is true for just about any airsoft gun.

After three hours of play, Hard Bean, three things became apparent.  One, the stock loosened up.  I intend to correct this by shimming the bottom pin.  Two, the grip loosened up.  This was corrected by tightened the nut inside the grip.  Three the hop-up was not working correctly.  Thanks to Rob, the guy with the P-90 on Beanland Rangers, for telling me how to correct this problem.

The Battery that came with the gun was a 9.6 V 1100 mAh mini, and after 3000 rounds it was still giving juice.  The box mag is a little cumbersome do to its size.  I would recommend going to a smaller box.

I had the gun chronoed at the shop where I bought it.  They said it was about 350 fps.  At Hard Bean it chronoed at 380 fps.  I do not know which machine is off, but I am happy with the results.

Overall I am happy with the gun.  Well, all except the bright orange tip.  Thank you Tyler for the electrical tape.

General Airsoft Discussion / Hand gernades
« on: January 28, 2008, 08:24:13 AM »
At this Hard Bean I noticed people using gernades, but I never got to see one up close.  Could somebody post a picture of one?  Do you make your own or buy them?

AEG's / P90
« on: January 11, 2008, 02:21:45 PM »
It would appear that TM is the only company manufacturing the P90.  Is there another company that makes a good P90, or is TM the best bet?

General Airsoft Discussion / Airsoft in New Zealand.
« on: September 11, 2007, 09:33:21 AM »
I found this video on youtube.  What I found to be interesting in this video was the laws that govern the airsoft weapons.  I know that NZ has some stricked gun laws, but I did not think they would carry them over to airsoft.   What do you think?   Is it possible that the same thing could happen here?

Introduce Yourself! / What's in a name?
« on: September 04, 2007, 02:12:53 PM »
At the Bushmaster event, Vince asked me who I was on the forum.  I told him.  He then asked what it meant, sea rescue, or what?  It is really quite complex.  You see, back in 1997 I was wasting my life away in a small town in Colorado.  I went skiing over a holiday weekend.  When I returned home I had a message from the Antarctic Fire Department requesting an interview.  Four weeks later I found myself on a C-130 Skier heading to McMurdo.   When I arrived, I was given an e-mail address.  Now before this time I was an AOL user, and I had one of those names like hunglikeahampster13, but now I was given a different user name.  It was searscr@mcmurdo.gov, or my last name and the first two letters of my first name.  Seeing that it made perfect since, I quickly adopted it for all my internet activities.

I do not know exactly why I am sharing this with everyone; maybe it will give others a chance to explain their forum name.
