The gun I used at OSGIII was completely different than what it started out as with the SYS-FTK99-09 Systema Full Tune Up Kit 99 for M4A1 ( Super High Speed ) , (aka - package) which is what I installed in my M4.  At OSGIII my M4 had stock gears, metal bushings, an M120 spring, polycarbonate piston, silicon piston head with bearing, and spring guide with bearing, most of which was from the Systema FTK.  I installed the FTK before the first game I attended in Prescott Feb '01, which is where the bearings failed, long before OSGIII.

I bought the Systema High Speed package and used what they supplied with it.  I would assume that they wouldn't put a spring in the package that was too powerful for their gears and ball bearings.  Later on after I distroyed the bearings I installed an M120 and metal bushings along with the stock gears.

I hope your ball bearing bushings last longer that the ones I put in my M4.  If you remember that's what I put in there the first time I upgraded it and they disintegrated.  If I remember correctly, the shaft's on the high speed gears are smaller than normal gears so they would be sloppy with metal bushings if you were to change them out later on.

Paco posted this some time back in another forum.

"What you are doing is adding hop up to the gun. What you will need is a dremel tool, or anything you can cut a slot in a brass barrel with. And a #83 o-ring dim 1/2x5/16x3/32. When you take the inner barrel out of the gun, you will notice that there a two o-rings on it infront of the large e-clip that holds the barrel spring in place. Remove the two o-rings, then the e-clip and slide off the spring. You will notice that the two o-rings are about the same thickness as the #83 o-ring. Take your dremel tool and cut a slot in the barrel, about 1mm up from the groove where the large e-clip locks in. Make sure the groove you cut is about the same thickness as the #83 o-ring. What I did was to use the cut-off wheel and cut down a bit, then work it forward to make the slot wider, you have to remember that the depth of the cut will be your hop up adjustment. So cut small at first, you can always go back later. Put it all back together, try it out, use .25 bbs. (better for outdoors anyway) I did this on mine as I had a extra barrel, and got I would say 50 feet more of effective range. Plus it shoots flatter, meaning that when the bb leaves the barrel it stays pretty flat. Near the end of its path it gets kind of wild every once in a while. If your o-ring wears out just go buy another! Presto new hop up. You can always try different o-rings and see what works best. Good luck! I will try this with my YE MP5 as well!"

How did you make out with this gun Yankee?  Do you still have it or did you sell it?  I'm curious as to whether or not you've been able to shoot it and if you came up with a gas rig for it.

Check to see that you don't have a BB or some dirt stuck in the barrel.

Not to worry.. I didn't take it that way.  Since the man did have his gear box already open, I'm sure he was already aware of the two nobs that held the cylinder head in place.  Sometimes you have to read in between the lines to see the whole picture.

I did say that the gear box holds it in place, what more do you want?

The gear box holds the head in place.  Lube the O-ring on the head with Silicone oil and slide it into the cylinder until the O-ring is not visible.  DO NOT USE GLUE!

The motor comes out the bottom of the pistol grip.  It may be in there a little snug.  Try to grab it with a pair of pliers and gently pull it out.  You can't get the mech box out until you remove the motor, then the pistol grip which is held on by two screws, then the pin just above the trigger, and the magazine catch as well.  Read my review on my M16 commando and that might help you out a bit.

Which gun do you have?  Did you check the connections to the motor inside the pistol grip, sounds like a bad connection either there, or a blown fuse.  Model of gun will help a lot here.

Well you have a fast charger there.  It's safe to use on you 8.4v pac.  Just don't leave it on for more that 5 hours.

Does it have some type of switch to select either 7.2 to 9.6?  If not then I would say it's safe to assume that it will charge anything from 7.2 up to 9.6 including 8.4.  I use a 9.6 charger on my 8.4 pacs all the time.  It's more important as to how much the Mah rating is as to how well it will charge or over charge the battery.
