My new G&G m4
« on: June 03, 2005, 01:18:54 AM »
Well... I didnt want to get a rifle right now, I didnt think I would play much in the summer, and I thought it would be a good idea anyways because the price might go down a bit. But I had this rifle in mind (G&G m4 R.I.S.)... Then I saw it on a website for 10% off.. So I got it :).. and a couple upgrades and accessories for it.. I had a ton of money, so I thought why the hell not, here is a list of upgrades and accessories.

ICS Stand Alone Flip-up Sight (on the way, not seen in pictures)
STAR QD Fore Grip (on the way, not seen in pictures)
Surefire flashlight (not seen in pictures)
Crane Stock
Guarder 1x30 Reflex Red Dot Sight with Low Profile AP Mount
King Arms G27 Pistol Grip
Laylax Mode-2 QD 16 Knights Suppressor
6.04 inner barrel
m120 spring
9.6v 3300 MAH battery

I love the scope, its my favorite part, then the grip, its awesome. I thin im gonna paint this rifle.. HuMmMm :-k . The bad news is.. its only got like.. 100 shots thru it, I charged the battery for 15 minutes on low charge, and shot it a bit with Nate, and it started to smoke... I dont know if it was the battery, or if I did something stupid to make it do that, either way, redwolf was cool about it, ill get another one free soon. Well, hope you like it :)

That's a niece-looking rifle!  Looks just like CAG D's M4 before he added the recent accessories.

After dealing with Raven1s G&G M4, however, I will never be buying one.  There are several small flaws that kind of turned me off with G&G products altogether.  Hopefully, they are not present on your AEG.

Only problem ive had with mine is when I first got it, a gear broke a tooth.  Replaced it with Systema gears and no problems.  But other then that it has run perfect.  I installed an M120 and silent headset.

Those don't quiet the gun very much at all..I actually saw a increase in sound because I put in a pdi 170%...Thats like a m130 on roids. They do however reduce the "shock" and hard hits against the cylinder and help reduce the risk of a gearbox crack.

pdi 170% = M120

Silent piston head sets DO eliminate the "snap" sound from the mechbox.  Like andy said, they also reduce the shock as well, which is a good thing.

I highly beg to differ. The PDI 170 I got put me at 420-435fps with just it, a silent head set, and a spring guide....Explain THAT!

No, its a very worth addition to the gearbox, especially if you are running a harder spring. It has probably saved my gearboxes from cracking under the pressure of my 170. Laying down 1200 rounds in just 4 minutes with a 170 in a gearbox without reinforced parts would probably  screw it up..

I have an m120, and most of the internals are already reinforced.
