Just keep putting on games 18 or over. Let the kids find their own venue, like AA Mike's.

I went to one of those.  Some of those kids, I swear, could not have been more than 11 or 12.  I felt old at 20.

Sometimes you gotta realize that you have to wait to do something.  Drive at 16 1/2, smoke at 18, drink and gamble at 21.  Think of it this way; at least things keep getting better

Some of these little kids gotta realize they're gonna have to wait till they get older.

I still don't want to ban anyone from the site (unless they are being obnoxious, of course!) but I really, really don't want airsoft turning into the next paintball.  I played paintball when it was still semi-mil-sim, and loved it.  Then it turned into a bunch of spray-and-pray twelve-year-old Rambos (and a few older people with even less maturity).

I'm afraid of that happening to airsoft, now that I've finally found an "adult" sport.  Things like unlimited respawns already threaten to take it down the "speedball" road.  If airsoft just stays mil sim (difficult objectives, limited respawns, etc.) the immature players will just naturally stay away.

Note: all of the above is of course just my opinion.  I'm am still a relatively new player, just hoping that the sport stays around (and stays fun) long enough for me to justify the $$$ I've put into gear :D

Here we go again. Minors in airsoft just ain't never gonna go away. There are some responsible, and some irresponsible minors out there, just as there are responsible and irresponsible adults (read Flash's posts, and read Ryan's story of the store employee who shot him while he was there). I personally feel that everyone on this forum should be treated with the same amount of respect as anyone else, until meeting them in person tells you otherwise. Like Doc said, the opportunity to sue anyone for anything is available to adults as well. I know if I personally got my tooth shot out, my parents would make me pay for it.

Perhaps a better course of action on this forum would be to elminate the age portion of the profile altogether. That way, we could determine the maturity of the poster without the stigma of age. I know that I would think that Chainsaw was older than Flash after comparing those two posters. The age debate has been done and redone, and, like others said, minors still continue to play airsoft. Frankly, I think its better that they play with a group of responsible people who know about the game rather than have everyone turn them away because they are too young, thus leading them to do something stupid like playing in a public park or a wash.

No, minors in airsoft are not going to go away.  And neither are minors and this forum.  Let us all hope we can be good examples for younger players coming into the sport (and this forum).  The forums are not a social welfare program for airsofters in need.  They are a resource to share and exchange ideas.  When the questions and contributions no longer become constructive and informative is when things go awry.  Think twice when posting, use the PM feature, use and re-use the search function, stay a while and learn something.

To me its not the issue of minors in airsoft. My whole point was to eliminate pointless posts and chatter that come with most under age kids. I dont agree with parents buying their children airsoft weapons. I dont agree with kids under 16 playing airsoft with adults. Very rarely do you find kids younger that are mature enough for our sport. These are my opinions.
My son and daughters will know how to handle a weapon but, will not airsoft untill I feel they are old enough or mature enough to participate in airsoft.
I have played a few games with you Shane and you conduct yourself very maturely and honorably. Same with a couple of kids in Tuscon even younger.
I just get sick every time I am following a good topic and find a couple 13, 14, 15 yr olds going at it about how cool or not something totally off topic is.
This low level of maturity only makes me leary and question their judgement on the field. Ban them, maybe. Moderate more strictly, yes.

Yes unfortunately, I've also seen lately that there has been alot of just bull shit posts that has gone nowhere and been helpfull to no one. Everyone acts a little more "ballsy" on the internet because there are no consequences for posting mindless shit, and pretending that you a 32 year old ex-Marine. Kids act stupid on the internet and on forums. That's all there is to it. Although, there people under 18 have posted very informatative and well natured posts that have contributed to this forum very greatly, and that's what making this sport open to young adults worth it. I think the answer to this dilema is not to ban kids, but to conduct yourself better and try to become something for everyone to look up to instead of constantly complaining and wishing that people under 18 didn't exist. Maybe a stricter moderating policy(Not complaining, just suggesting) for the bland, and useless topics that appear. We have to work together to try to fix this problem, not run away from it.

Hey wait till August then band 16 lol. I don't agree with baning people under 16. I think that sometimes we can be stupid and immature. I don't think that me or my friends on Airsoft Arizona make to many people on here that mad. If we post something that if stupid we post it under General Off-Topic Discussion Forum. Don't band people under 16 just band the people who post crap and piss everyone off.

Let me write it in english so everyone can understand:

1) I DO NOT wish minors would go away

2) I DO NOT say anything on the internet that I would not tell you in person.

3) I DO wish for underage posts to be moderated closer

4) My whole point is that the average bullsh*t post are put on by kids. Banning is my OPINION, not the most reasonable or logical answer. Moderating them more closely is in my OPINION.

I dont give a rats a** if someone elses kid looks up to me. I am not some wannabe hero.
Do I care what people really think, NO.
Do I need to set a positive example, NO.
I do need to watch how I conduct myself on this forum, YES.
I already suggested, repeatedly, tighter moderation.
As far as me pretending to be an ex Marine ???WTF??? I am not an ex Marine, never implied I was. You dont even know me so dont assume you do.

L. I don't think he was implying you did. I think he was just saying that it is easy for someone to pretend they are.  I agree with you on this:

Under 18 at AA games: NO
Under 13 on the forums: NO
posting useless crap on the forum: NO
smashing cyberskulls with the ban-hammer for asshatted posts on a consistent basis: YES!
(goes for all ages of asshats)
Having a good time, and shooting people at games: YES!

my 33 cents.

Sorry for the mix up, Mini. I was not making direct alligations towards you, I was making examples of what many younger people do on the internet on forums, chat rooms, and games, and that it is no different here. Although this thread is informative, this topic has been discussed time and time again. We're all just trying to hammer in a screw.

It was the age reference that lead me to believe it was directed towards me.
I understand and dont follow many forums due to crap posted by jacka*ses.
I follow this forum because alot of good info and positive people post here. Pisses me off when those posts become a page or so of sh*t that has to be waded through to get the point.
It can be fixed. All problems have a solution.
I just hate like hell for this forum to be another one of those overrun with this horse-sh*t.
Simply giving up and conceding that its unfixable is not a solution. This is the same attitude that allows millions to exploit the system(govt. assistance, etc.). In my opinion.

And most of all, yes, shooting people is FUN.

Well, the moderators do a good job, and this forum is a hell of alot better than several others that I've posted on. We should be thankfull for that.

Maybe a children's forum could be set up for the <16 minors. It would be a nice place for the children-friendly games to advertise as well.
