I work in the print finishing industry(Bookbinding) I do speciality foil stamping and embossing among many other things.  My company does everything from binding common books to restoring museum pieces.  Every day is different and every book is different.  I really love my craft and actually enjoy going to work each day(and thats priceless)!!

I also used to do; Highrise window cleaning, Healthcare, and spinning pizzas!!

I write as a hobby and hope to make a living at that someday.

Be Well,
Charlie

I work during the day for TMW offroad where I build and install suspension upgrades and make roll cages for off road vehicles(yamaha Rhinos especially). In adition to that I also do a ton of custom metal fab work for the parent company Tyco Trailers.
The other half of the week I work for coyote tactical, designing, making and selling gear.
But those jobs are there just to put me through college which I will be graduating in a few years with a degree in mechanical engineering.

Both of my parents at one time were teachers, my father was a industrial tech teacher at high schools untill he quit and my mother is an elementary school teacher.

I'm a Research Health Scence Specialist for the Federal Government.  I work with the Head of Vascular Surgery at the VA here in Tucson.  I coordinate a multi-centered research project comparing the different ways to repair aortic aneurysms.  I used to work for the College of Medicine collecting human GI cancer biosamples.  We'd freeze them or preserve them in wax for research purposes.  For many years I assisted in surgery of all kinds: heart, vascular, trauma, and OB.  I used to help deliver babies too.  That was fun.  Sometimes, I wish I'd joined the Military when I was younger.  I would have been a medic I think, but who knows....

I'm going to take the MCAT in August and hope to get accepted to medical school for the 2007 class.

My dad is a minister and my mom works retail.

Well one thing I've always wanted to do was own a business. I'm kinda family oreintated and my parents need a retirment setup.

I wanted to get an extreme sports shop. That would sell ATVs, Dirt Bikes, Quads, paintball, and airsoft. And own a small peice of land(such like SWPB).  Except smaller with an urban and desert setting. There is open land everywhere in the city and ATVs sell like crazy.

I was always told Teacher or Business owner.

I go to college, ASU West, and I have to declare. So i'm just looking for other people's careers choices. Cause in reality those fancy degrees get you no where. They just want you to have a degree, even though u don't use it.

True - to an extent.

Really what a degree proves to an employer is not only that you have a certain level of intellegence and experience, but also that you have the ability to finish something that you start.

That pretty sums that up really well. One thing I would add is depending on the job requirements, they may not even look at you if you dont have that degree.

That's true at the state and federal level for sure...I have a BSHS (Bachelor's in Health Science) and without it, HR wouldn't have even looked at my application.  I don't use a lot of what I learned in college, mostly experience for me.  I'm the whole package.... :)

During the school year I paint houses to pay for the bills while I am in AZ and during the summer I work for a logging company here in Oregon that has me doing anything from getting GPS coordinates for land plots to be logged to maintaining the roads or my favorite blowing up tree stumps with dynamite to make new roads.

I've worked with Demolition Man both at work and out in the jungle. He is a great guy and I would go into battle anytime with him.

I work as an instructor on post(Ft. Huachuca).
I teach the job of 96B, Intelligence Analyst, to new soldiers joining up.
It's a good job with good pay, but my time in the military trained me for it, just now going to college.
