Actually, more games come out for PC's than for consoles.  Thats why PC's have thousands of different games out for them.  Some games a made by professionals and some are made by small companies.

To sum up my entire argument before I begin: Most of you are wrong.
Now we can get started:

Quote from: "frogguts198"
Oh and games are goign to be around $70-80 a pop because of blu-ray.
Would you rather play games with 4.7GB and 9.4GB of space available?  Are you aware of Microsoft also releasing HD (HD-DVD) games, which will be at a similar price?

Quote from: "GrimUSMC"
 The PS3 is going to be way overpriced(does it reallly need a blue-ray player in it NO but it does need a HD in it)
The blu-ray video player is not so much a "feature" as it is a side effect.  There will be a BD-ROM drive in the PS3 in order to play High Definition games on BD-Rs.  Coincidentally, the technology allows you to view other BD-R media, such as movies.  XBOX is coming out with an HD-DVD player attatchment, so you can paly its games that are on HD-DVD.  It's rumored to be around $200.  Without it, you will not be able to play future games, which will be in HD.  You have no argument.

Quote from: "B00MINATOR"
The PS3 will fail.
It will cost too much when it first hits the shelves.

The 360 is evenly balanced and American made. What more could you ask for :)

....Nintendo sucks ass.

-B00M!
1) No it will not.
2) Name one good product that is made in America.

Quote from: "Cheeze_IZ_G00d"
Also, basically no consumer electronics are American made anymore, I shudder to think what these things would cost if manufacturers had to pay for American labor.
Labor is more expensive in Japan, why do you think there is a Toyota plant in Kentucky?

Quote from: "Cheeze_IZ_G00d"
The reason that XBOX 360 is still so high is that it was the only one out there. Now, there are other players in the market, so all of the consoles should go down pretty quickly after their release. I would assume it would be similar to PS2/XBOX.
If by "quickly," you mean "over a year," then we'll see.  I still doubt it.

Quote from: "B00MINATOR"
No, the only reason they are still so high is because Halo 3 hasn't been released yet.
What's that have to do with anything?  One game will not alter a console's price.
Quote from: "B00MINATOR"
PS3 will be set at an outrageous price. Very few people will buy them at first.
Actually, quite a bit of people will be buying and preordering them.

Quote from: "B00MINATOR"
Here's a break down of the most popular genre for each system:

Xbox - Shooters/fighters
PSX-PS3 - RPGs
Nintendo - Anything that falls in the middle. They deal more with oddball/party/classic games.

-B00M!
Name a shooter and fighter that XBOX has and nobody else does.  Howcome one of the best, if not the best shooter out there, SOCOM, does not alter your categorization?

Quote from: "Fish"
But after about a year from the PS3 release there will be a chip, that you can dowload games directly from your comp, of course illegal, but its an option. Plus the games (being on a blue disk) will be huge. ...
All console have/will have some sort of modchip, or ways of hacking, and I doubt the PS3's will come out one year after release.  The first XBOX mod job was done about a year after it came out, but that was because the hacker was an MIT student with access to labs containing state-of-the-art mega-expensive equipment.  Chances are, he's graduated now and no longer has access to this equipment.
And PS3 discs are not going to be colored blue.  The only thing blue will be the color of the laser that is used to read the discs.

Quote from: "Vince"
Are you saying that Playstation 3 is superior in quality to Xbox 360?

Because it is not.
Prove this statement, because so far, it's not true.

Quote from: "PolandsLeftTesticle"
- Microsoft's Vista, to me, seems like a vast improvement over XP. ...But it also seems like a rip off. As for the battle of the consoles, price aside, the PS3 isthe superior system. While X360 might have cooler games, I enjoy RPGs and games that actually have a STORY to them.

\PLT
Vista will be/is balls.  I am definately never going to get it, for reasons I will not discuss online.

Quote from: "frogguts198"
Graphics wise, the PS3 has a weaker graphics processor.  Xbox has a 512mb while a ps3 has a 256mb.  Plus, screenshots and the actual game are alot different.  Screenshots generally look better than the actual game will look while playing.  Its not always true but it usually is.
These types of things are taken out of context.  For example, do you want your console to be able to produce the most triangles?  PS2 could do more than XBOX, does that mean it's more powerful?

Quote from: "PolandsLeftTesticle"
- I costs more to build an awesome computer than to just buy a gaming console. It's also less of a hassle, and more games come out for consoles.

I really don't mind the core system of either of these things. If I have to use a corded controller and a memory card, it will be the same as what I do now.

Tigerman, after reading your entire post all I can say is that your a Sony a fanboy.  The Xbox was more powerful than the PS2 and it produce game with alot better graphics.  For PS2 one the best games graphics wise is God of War, wihch graphics aren't that great, compared to Ninja Gaiden, Fable, Halo 2, etc.
Also, Ghost Recon kicks SOCOM in the balls, and that was an Xbox/PC only game for a while, I think.  Xbox has always had better shooters for it, mainly because having triggers made it seem logical but whenever I played a shooting game on PS2 it felt awkward.
And you do not need to buy the HD-DVD drive to play future xbox 360 games.  Its an add on that pretty much doesn't do anything at all, unless you want "true" HD games, which look nearly identical to SD games.
Whats the point of having 9gb of space, the largest game to date, Oblivion, barely takes up half of the disc space for an Xbox 360 game disc.  I read on some forum that it takes up about 2.3gb.  I doubt their will be a game for PS3 that will take up all of that disc space, especially since, from what I am hearing, the PS3 dev kit is very hard to work with.  Also, more games will come out for 360 because of Live Arcade and they are releasing dev kits for ANYBODY who wants them, so you could be playing fan games, completely new games, some will be of low quality but at least it will be more liek a computer.

Interesting article.

http://www.macworld.com/news/2005/05/17 ... /index.php

An opposing opinion.

http://ps3.ign.com/articles/614/614783p1.html

Bottom line, both are awesome systems. It ends up just being a personal choice. For me, I much prefer the game choices that Playstation has offered. XBOX, for me, has always had games that were in the realm of fantasy/RPG. I just tend to dislike that sort of thing. With either one you go with, I am sure you won't be disappointed.

In response to frog's comment, I like SOCOM better because it is a little less linear. Beyond all of that, I just like the games that I have to choose from. Microsoft, you must remember, only entered the console gaming arena with the XBOX, whereas Sony is a hardened veteran. Anyway, I played on the XBOX, and I liked it, I am just going to wait to play on the PS3 to make my final determination.

Computers are cheaper to build.  There are thousands of computer games out.

Given, but what's that have to do with the PS3 argument?

As you said, Ghost Recon is out for both (originally all 3) consoles.  I don't think GR1 was XBOX-Only for very long, maybe a couple of weeks, because I remember getting it for PS2 in the beginning.
Quote from: "frogguts198"

If you don't want the HD-DVD drive, you can continue to play DVD-R games, but your supporting "evidence" is less than credible.  GoW, for example, is a DVD9, as well as most newer PS2 games.  For those of you who don't know, DVD9s are the dual layered DVDs that can hold up to 9.4GB of data.  I'm sure plenty of XBOX games use DVD9 as well, and I'm sure you will need to buy it, if you want to play huge third party games.  PS3 probably won't use all 25GB at first, but I can tell you, it'll use a lot more than 9.4GB.
And I've heard from multiple sites that developers are finding the PS3 easier to work with than the PS2, so I doubt the difficulty of use is a bad thing in comparison to PS2 devkits.

Nintendo Fanboy: 46%
Sony Fanboy: 20%
Microsoft Fanboy: 41%

This means you're: Not a fanboy

Interesting... I guess.  Also I mentioned the Xbox and PS2 thing because you happend to mention, for some reason, that the PS2 was stronger or superior to the Xbox, or something like that.

What I said was that the PS2 could do/produce/generate/whatever the verb is more triangles than XBOX, which, from experience uising PS2 and XBOX does not mean the PS2 is any stronger than the XBOX.  I use this to reason with how the X360 can do more triangles than the PS3, but due to the previous example, it means nothing.  That is all :)
