Classic rock is my favorite, mostly the 70s, a bit of the 60s and 80s.  Also some classic country.

Some of my favorites are Creedence Clearwater Revival, Boston, THe Doobie Brothers, Elton John, Van Halen, and Merle Haggard.

I can tolerate mostly everything excluding most modern day rap, hip-hop, and pop.

All That Remains. We Came As Romans. Asking Alexandria. Five Finger Death Punch. Soilwork. Killswitch Engage.

Those are just a few of the more recent bands I've been listening to, I enjoy almost anything but country, Although some bands I used to like in middle / high school got very dull. Especially Linkin Park. Absolutely hate their new sounds. Less Catalyst sounding, more Faint sounding please.

Those were all the bands that got me into metal, I don't like Asking Alexandria though, also I used to love Linkin Park, but their last 2 or 3 albums have been total garbage, Hybrid Theory and Meteora were deffinitaly their best albums

the best music was made in the 80s... don't get me wrong, there are many great modern songs out there, but most of the music legends that we hear of today (The Beetles, Johnny cash, Eurythmics, George Michel, The police, ect.) are from the 70s or 80s...

Well there is also the fact that you can't talk about legends in the present...

That's because no one does drugs these days. Look at any legendary band (Rolling Stones, Beetles, Jimi Hendrix Experience) hell, even johnny cash got high on a more than regular basis.
All I'm saying is that if people got high more, they would stop cranking out this shit that they claim is music.
And on another side not (and another paragraph)... what thehell is with this whole 'DubStep' thing? I heard atleast 4 covers of Nirvana on Dubstep and I was absolutly disgusted. Not only would I rather have my ear drums perforated with chopsticks than listen to another cover of a Nirvana Song in Dubstep Format, but I doubt this is what Kurt Cobain would have wanted to become of his music. That's really the sad part, that some douchebag thinks, "hey, I've got a GREAT idea, ill take a classic 1990's alternative Rock song, take a steaming poo on it, and market it as something ill call... 'Dubstep'!".

Whoa... that was one hell of a tangent.

Theres remixes of dubstep and theres original created dubstep, to really appreciate it you need a good subwoofer or bass headphones. It's just not some peoples cup of tea.
