I do not appreciate the fact that Wounded Warrior made that decision, I am pretty pissed by it all. The 2nd amendment is being attacked and is disintegrating due to choices by our so called president, and organizations such as Wounded Warrior. If this continues we will not only be losing the second amendment, but I believe that it will lead to a revolution. When they prohibited alcohol in the 1920 people began to get crazy and formed operations to transport the liquid under the governments nose. It is not a matter of if, it is a matter of when the government makes an attempt to completely take our guns, it will lead to riots, chaos, and a lot of dead government agents. Within hours of being re-elected, Obama made a move and made a treaty with the UN limiting and attempting to eliminate the import of foreign made weapons, such as Springfield (Croatia), Glock (Austria), and several others. Fortunately Glock has an American location now, but still. The government would have better chances at Jumping off the Grand Canyon without a parachute and surviving than taking our guns, protection and out 2nd amendment and surviving.

Thanks for letting me rant and rave and speak like a speech writer...I needed that :)

Heh that's kind of ironic..... Liberals in charge of Wounded Warrior..... But hey, this is America, and private organizations are allowed to make their own decisions, regardless of how idiotic.

And as the obligatory Libertarian in this thread, I will make a comment about Romney also supporting an assault weapons ban......

TL;DR

They want to stay apolitical. (which I think is dumb because it implies that self defense is a political issue and not an innate right....)
They have decided they don't want their company logo on any "weapons."
They are still willing to sponsor shooting events or fundraisers involving firearms.
They realize shooting can be therapeutic for wounded warriors and support it.
They are still accepting donations from firearm companies.

Yeah, this surprised me too. Considering that firearms manufacturers, retailers, and shooters in general have been some of the biggest supporters of the charity, it's kind of a slap in the face. I guess all these people can start their own charities or give back on their own (love what the guy in the video is doing).

As a side note, not too long ago WW loved them some guns. http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2012/11/14/wounded-warrior-used-to-like-guns/

Wounded warriors is a great organization, but like the video said, a lot of the money doesnt go to the troops. If your looking to donate to a charity look up soldiers angels . I have worked directly with them when i was in Germany, and they have personally helped me out during a rough time of my life. I think wounded warrior got to big, and forgot what they were really started for

Bob Z Moose: Haha yeaahhhhhh liberty!!

I'm sitting here wanting to give WWP the benefit of the doubt, but as I read up, the more corrupt it seems to be. With a huge recent donation from Kahr arms, the large salaries of the higher-ups.... I'm sure the majority of people involved in the program have good intentions, but it seems as though political correctness and bureaucracy has infected the organization. I mean the fact that this whole thing started because WWP denied to be featured on a radio talk show because it was a "gun related program"....... It's sad. :(

Sgun480, agreed, and thank you for your service.

Stuck a nerve with this one so let me edumacate y'all.  Got a good friend, retired Army 1st SGT, spent most of his time in the 1st RGR BN.  The man has been shot at in every conflict this Country has participated in since Grenada.  Last year he gets squished by a JB Hunt truck and loses his left leg (note, not service related).  Any how, I swing by the big VA hospital in San Antonio to see him and find out that WWP is the MOST Biased charity organization that I have ever encountered in my whole life.  If this was the Salvation Army somebody would of already started a class action lawsuit and lawyered them into obscurity.  The double standard is so apparent that even I caught on pretty quick;  Not OEF, OIF, OND?  You can sit in the folding metal chair at the end of the hall.  Now you nice folks over here who's (fill in the blank) kin have given so much for our Country can have this "exclusive waiting room" complete with the big screen plasma TV, the Barco's and the internet active PC's.  Oh, and don't forget the free hotel across the street just for your families.  Built at tax payer expense on government installations but excluding any Veteran other than them.  I am not disrespecting anybodies service or sacrifice but to treat a veterans family in this manner smacks of the nouveau riche and makes me want to break out the tar and feathers.
