Hello forums,
Well, if you know me you know I love Russian weapons. Their simple mechanisms and beautiful wood fixtures just get to me. But one thing I like better are bullpups, and after a recent trip to Crossroads Gunshow to check out some TAR-21's I decided they were out of my price range for now lol. After some minor crying over my lack of funds I remembered a prototype I saw years ago in Oregon and decided to look them up. Well, it turns out they werer a success and had full versions available. Without further adeu; I present you with..............................The SGworks Bullpup SKS!
My good old Romanian SKS got a makeover
I ordered it on a Tuesday and had it in my hands on Thursday. The stock cost $200 and I got the SKS for $250 a few years before all the prices went to the moon. For $450 I got myself a great bullpup rifle in a common caliber that I love. Much better than a ~$3000 Israeli rifle (For now anyways). I had done a lot of research on this so installation was fairly easy. The one thing I had trouble with was the trigger linkage. If you tightened the screw too much it would lock up the trigger. Same story with not enough tightening. after a couple hours of off and on tweaking I got it to work. The moment I got it all together and shouldered it I was falling in love all over again with my SKS. The center of gravity was now in my shoulder and it was much easier to point. Instead of a long front heavy Tapco sniper rifle, I now have a short "AUG Like" marksman rifle. Here's a Side-by-side with my Ares Polarstar for comparison:
And Heres a Pic of the trigger linkage/Stock trigger if anyone cares:
Overall I am 100% satisfied. It turned out great and it was a lot cheaper than buying those newer rifles....
If you want more info post here or check out SGworks site here:
http://sgworks.com/ Its a really cool idea if you own an SKS.
And before anyone asks: No, I am not selling this ever. It is going bar hopping with satan and I in hell.....
Well that's all for my rants,
Thanks all -Blindsniper
