Kids in the hood
« on: December 19, 2009, 08:57:16 PM »
So, A couple weeks ago I come around the corner to turn onto my street and I catch a view of two kids with guns in my side mirror behind me, obviously being airsoft guns I slowed down, popped my head out the window and watched as they shot each other from about 20 ft away.. They were kinda on the side of a house but visible from the street. I just shook my head and drove into my garage. Then about a week ago, I am driving down my street and out comes a kid with an AEG running across the street shooting... As I drive along.. I notice theres probably 5-7 kids shooting back and forth across the street from houses and yards at each other. At this point it's either get out of the car, scold them and attempt to find their parents and probably get harrassed by the parents, or call non-emergency. I made the latter of the two. Since I remained anon I never heard about it afterwards..Ok..No problems right? Kids probably got their asses beat from their parents...Hadn't seen anything until today..Same shit, again. This time I just drove around and went home..

So..Am I the prick for calling the cops again? Or would you do the same? The other thing is I also don't want to get out and confront a kid or their parents while carrying(no CCW right yet) People tend to freak out when they see a gun and think your a civilian.

If they're being douches... calling the cops is fair game. If they at any point shoot your car, beating them with a bat is fair game... and/or a civil suit.

i would have contacted the parents some how and informed them of places they could go to play safely but in the end i probably would have called non emergency as well.

Do you know the families at all? Could be a good opportunity to educate. If that is not an option with the family then that is your only option then.

If i knew who their parents were i would just call them telling them what they were doing and how you thought it was dangerous, ect ect, but you said you already called the police, so by this i would assume that their parents know about it.

However since you dont know the parents at all I would just call the police.

If you can find out where they live send the police to their house, that way your sure the parents know whats going on. OR put on an urban gullie and practice head shots from an undisclosed location......... The choice is yours
